No way, nothing wrong with this one other than that. I have faith that welding a nut to it will bust it out.
That should work.

If it were me, I'd probably try to weld a socket-cap bolt onto it, rather than a nut. Less likely to damage the caliper that way.

Hey guys, I noticed there isn't much in terms of how to videos on the Durango. This is a popular swap that is extremely easy to do so I wanted to make a video that was TO THE POINT. No extra chit chat or bs. These 5-6 minute videos show everything you need to do to install the SRT Brembo Front and Rear brakes on a non-srt Durango. This video assumes you know how to jack the car up and put it on stands and take the wheel off. Didn't want to waste time videoing that bs.

I also did a comparison of completely stock 2016 R/T brakes 60-0mph stopping stats vs the Brembo brakes with powerstop rotors/pads 60-0mph stopping stats. Be sure to look that up in the performance section of the forum.

I also went an extra step and listed all the parts needed to do this with part numbers! I didn't have the money for aftermarket wheels so I just used 1" spacers and kept the stock r/t wheels. I linked the spacers below. Enjoy:
Hey, thanks for all the great videos. I am doing the brembo swap on my DD 2021 and I encountered a small complication dealing with the spacers. Did you actually change all the wheel studs? Since the OEMs are too long and they protrude through the spacer. So when I install the wheel back there is a space around 1.5cm between the wheel and the spacer because of the wheel studs. That means you either have to change all the wheel studs for shorter ones or use a different wheel with the different offset. I ordered shorter wheel studs which I will be using now in winter with the original R/T wheels and for sommer I get SRT wheels.
Otherwise great job! Next for me is the side mirrors swap from GC to have power folding.

My factory Citadel wheels had deep enough pockets that I didn't have to worry about them.

Are those Brembo brakes?
No not yet, was only trying the spacers to see if the OEM RT wheels will fit...unfortunately without shorter lug nuts they won't. Will probably buy SRT wheels.
Brembo full set of brakes I already have ready for install. Will probably wait and do the whole change after the winter since I just bought new tyres and not sure if they fit the srt wheels.

Being wanting to do this on my 2023 RT plus, thanks for the post.

Once you replace the calipers can you still use the factory spare tire or you have to replace it with a different size rim and tire?

Thanks

I know you're posted a few years old but I'm still hoping you might be active on the forum or maybe someone else can chime in but I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit.. it definitely isn't stock and and the factory brakes are not good enough to stop this Stroked out Supercharged Beast so a brake upgrade is basically the last thing I need..

My questions Are

#1 will this swap be the same on a 2014 Summit that has the 5.7?

#2 Did you use the the brake pads that were included with the power stop kits?

#3 I can get all 4 very lightly used Brembo Calipers for next to nothing, will those be exactly the same as the ones you used?

Might be a stupid

I assume they are but once again I would like to be certain..

any other info you can provide on the swap will be much appreciated..

Thanks in advance for your help..
