I have a 2019 Dodge durango rt 30,000 miles on it, when I press on the gas the car does not accelerate how I would like it to. is there something set in computer that does not let the truck move quickly when step on gas. The engine and hemi kicks in I hear it but takes a little before the speed kicks in. Does any one experience this? Do you have any good Mods to get around this? Also I live in New York long island does anyone know of good speed shops that work on Durango upgrades??

First off, you will want to make sure there isn't something wrong. Your R/T should accelerate rather quickly. If all is good, and it isn't exciting enough for you, then you should get a SRT, Hellcat, or have a 20# NOS tank installed. Then the speed will kick in when "the engine and hemi kicks in".

Sadly Sport mode in years previous to 2021 is poor and does not do much for the driving experience.
That's what I was wondering.... In my 2013 5.7, stepping on the gas response was like early turbo lag, was aggravating.
Per 'sanatarium16' check out Pedal Commander, should be fairly easy to install and would remove any accelerator 'lag' response.

I recently had the truck diagnosed they said everything is ok.. I should have got the SRT at the time when I got it but my friend talked me out of it. I did not know I would be craving more speed like now..lol

I am going g to try it..

I ran 87 on my JGC 5.7 and logged engine knock in the summer. You could see significant timing being pulled all over the RPM band. That said, for a daily commute you are not missing out but if you want all the ponies for spirited drive go with 91 especially on hot summer days or when towing.

I was thinking about that, someone did suggest this. Do you have one and will it mess with the mechanics?
Yes I have it. Made a world of difference. I even took it off to make sure it wasn't the placebo effect after a while and the difference is night and day. I leave it in it's sport setting with no additional level. That's the right balance for me. You can adjust via the app or device itself.

Welcome to DDN. You say you have had the D checked out, and you realize there is still the balance of the 5/60 powertrain warranty in effect.
Are you saying that it's running differently than when you first got it? Is there another vehicle you have in mind when you are comparing its performance (or lack of)?

Remember it weighs 5000+ pounds which a bunch to get moving. Re the Durango SRT, a very nice ride, but also a theft magnet, especially in big cities. We had a fellow here whose was taken from an airport parking lot, with the temp tags still on it.
