I traded in my 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 today for the Durango. It was kind of a sudden decision. I work for a Dodge and Chevy dealer and found we had several R/Ts. Chevy offered what I paid for the Z71 when it was new. The Dodge dealer gave me $1,000 over what I paid for the Z71 plus gave me all the Dodge discounts for the Durango. The Z71 only had 1,500 miles and was four months old. I almost bought a Durango while waiting months for the Z71 to be built, but back in the Spring, Durangos were hard to come by. Mistake or not, I sure enjoyed the drive home in the Durango.

Why did you dump the Chevy? Weren't the Colorados redone two years ago or so fixing all their issues and making them look nicer? What was wrong with it or you just love the Durango R/T?

Nothing wrong with the Colorado. Chevy dealer offered me a $1,000 over what I paid for it and the Dodge dealer sold to me under invoice. In 2012 I drove over 700 miles to get a new R/T in a dealer trade. I love the Hemi. Turbo 4 cylinders, not so much.

Well there ya go! Congrats on your new Durango and please stay and post up some pictures.

What brands of all weather mats are a good choice? I'll probably end up getting Mopar mats even though they are pretty expensive. Tinted windows and vent visors can wait until late Spring. I will try to get down to the river in the next few days and take some pictures.

Never mind about the mats. I ordered some Lasfit Mats.

Is the exhaust louder in Sport Mode or is that just my imagination? Regardless, it sounds great.
Sport mode keeps your engine RPMs closer to the the optimum power point, adjusts shift timing and adjust the fuel curve, so yes I think you can hear the difference as I do in my standard R/T

I don't know if it's louder in Sport, but as Vice-White posted, Sport does hold gears longer as you accelerate and downshift sooner as you decelerate.

What I do notice about the exhaust in Sport is how quick the upshifts happen when you "give it a little wellie". The result is a nice "brappp" as the engine decelerates quickly to rev match the next gear.

That always cracks me up when it happens.... When I first got it my wife was like... "what's wrong with your car??".... I played along at first and feigned concern... darned if I know, lets try that again.... After a couple of times and me cracking up she gave me one of those looks... nice try jerk... realizing it is suppose to do that...

I've had it happen once while not in Sport (I may have had "Eco off" engaged, too). Just that right combination of road speed, engine speed, throttle position, and transmission range change resulted in a "brapp".

Get the Mopar Durango ones, I have them and they are great (they match the grill design too)…

I was asking what the OP's sticker was

Congratulations on your new DD. I purchased the Mopar mats, a little pricey but well worth it.
