2021+ Wireless Phone Charger Console Deleted

Right after getting my 2022 DD that had the wireless charging console, I found it to be the worst feature ever on an otherwise outstanding vehicle. With the phone I had, it wouldn't work at all with the factory rubber mat, and if I removed the mat it would only provide slow charge and the phone would slide around. Completely useless, especially as you're not supposed to place keys or wallet or whatever on top of it either. I've had a new phone since purchase that would work with the mat, as would my daughter's iPhone, but still slow charge only. I started ordering the parts as the first of the year, and was going to do it myself, but with everything else I have going on I, gave in and had the dealer remove it because I just couldn't take it anymore. I don't know how else to describe it, other than life changing (ok, I'm being a bit facetious), to have that space reclaimed!

If anyone wants to do it, there are three parts needed. The non-charging console bin (Part # I used is 68520042AA), the non-charging rubber mat (Part # I used is 68520040AA), and the console inner bezel (the inner plastic peace on the right side), which is dependent on your interior trim accent. For example, my build sheet lists the Apex Hydro Interior Accent. You will want to confirm what interior accent you have and get the appropriate non-charging console part, this was the most expensive part. For my Apex Hydro interior accent, the part # was 6WT79AAAAA. With the non-charging center console, I was able to order ProClip USA's console mount for my phone (it uses the non-charging inner bezel to mount) as it is easy and quick to install and remove as needed.

Here are pics of the before (with my rubber part of the mat cut out to get it to work), after, and the ridiculousness of the space the factory wireless charger uses up/wastes. There are pics showing my sunglasses to show the size and how useless the left over space on the wireless charger bin is versus a comparison with the non-charging bin and my sunglasses. As you can see in the pictures of the removed charging bin, the wireless charger could easily have been rotated 90 degrees for mounting to have provided at least some extra storage space in the console.

Mine works ok. Even with my case on the phone it has no problem connecting to charge. It pretty much just maintains where its at, definitely a slow charge but better than a slow drain. Aggressive on the wheel or the pedals will likely move it off the charge pad but easy enuf to move it back. Not perfect but worth having imo.

Could you post a photo of your revised bin with the rubber mat removed (assuming it isn't glued in place)? I might want to do something else with the bin space.

Here's i picture I took of the non-charging console bin, without the bottom rubber mat, before it was installed. Hopefully it helps.

I thought about doing the same after ordering the Pro-Clip Phone holder lol, instead what I did was trim the Clip by cutting it where it hits the charging Pad at the bottom, and using 3M double side tape to hold it on the left and right sides, this way the clip fits firmly with no issues and kept the charging pad, I don’t use it ( Charging pad )since I have a 1ft Cable from the Type C plug to the iPhone 😉. But now I know where to start if I decide to remove it 🍻

Thanks so much. Didn't realize it could be done so cleanly . My charger , at best keeps the charge where it is , no loss no gain. I use the space most often for my 9mm . Keeps it in plain sight as per NC law and deters some sketchy people in the cities that like / want a free SRT . Can they move the hazard button while they are at it ? i lost count of how many times I found them flashing as I drive down the highway like some old man LOL .

Sounds right, that bezel piece is the bad part of the changeover. I was able to get mine for that price shipped from BAM Wholesale Parts. It's the trim that is on the right side, runs back alongside the cupholders. That piece extends down further on the non-wireless charging bin. I wish they had designed it so that piece was interchangeable. Here's a pick I took holding the old inner bezel. Kinda hard to see, especially with the angle, but the non-charging inner bezel extends down to the bottom of the console bin. In the picture of the bin, in the post above, you can see the spot where two clips for that bezel go into near the bottom.

Is there an easy way to just disable the charging feature without swapping out the bin? The charger is useless to me & I'd like to put other stuff in that space for now (like my wallet). May replace the bin & trim later, but the priority for now is to kill off the charger feature !!

I do not like the way that Dodge redesigned the center console, as the entire center console has to be unmounted to gain access. Part of why I just had the dealer do the work. Anyways, there are to "easiest" options from my understanding. The cheapest, well depending on the dealer doing the work or DIY, is to unmount the center console to get access to the wireless charger and unplug it. The other option I believe is available, involves the dealer going into dealerconnect to set the vehicle options, and having the wireless charger option removed from the VIN.

I have been curious if alfaobd or something would be able to set that feature or anything. I haven't even begun to try figuring that out unfortunately. For the same reason I gave in and had the dealer do my console bin swap, too many other projects going on.

That is until I upgraded my phone to S23 ultra and it doesn't fit. Completely useless now lol this is definitely something I'm going to look into doing. Thanks!
No Way.. I have S23 Ultra with a hard case and it fits and charges without issue. No fast charging since it is only 9 watts but it does fit, tight but fits and not hard to place it either.
Maybe your case is really big?

Sorry for the delay/having to message me, I didn't realize I wasn't getting notifications if someone posted to this. I messaged how I got the part number, but for anyone else who reads this thread:
To get the non wireless charging console bezel part number: I looked online for a Durango GT (2021 and up, since the console was different previously) that didn't have the wireless charging console and had the same matching interior trim accents. The ones listed for sale typically have the VIN available, so you can pull up the build sheet here: FCA RAM
Once you have the build sheet, you can check that it has the same matching interior accents as your build sheet, in my case that it listed APEX HYDRO INTERIOR ACCENTS, and also that it doesNOT list the WIRELESS CHARGING PAD. With that verified, I recommend asking a dealership parts department to look up which part number Bexel you need for that non charging console VIN. That way you have it QC'd what part number you need to order for the Bezel accent. For reference, here are some part numbers I had dug up of variations, but again, please use that method above to double check which part number you would need.

I think there are some premium model trims, such as the Forged Carbon Fiber Package, that weren't available on models without the wireless charging console. Which is unfortunate when trying to get rid of the wireless charger.
