PowerStop Z26 pads/rotor kit. front, DD R/T 2014 w/ JGC Brenbo upgrade - rotational grind/squak sound?

So I ordered for a 2012 JGC like I typically do for brake parts. Apparently I was supposed to rip off the squeak sensor on the inside pad??? What's it hitting and how are my Brembos different from the vanilla, OEM-equipped JGC SRT8s? Rather, how is the inner pad squeak sensor now interfering with a thing?

I was never able to figure out why but I too had to remove the inner wear indicators on the Z26's for my 2018 DDSRT.

And they squealed like crazy for the first 2-4 stops for every outing, and then got quiet. Same thing on two different sets. Aside from the initial squeal, I was very happy with the pads on the street.

Meanwhile, the exact same front pads made zero noise on a Z06 (that apparently has the same front calipers, but different rotors and different rears, as the DDSRT.

(As a side note, the Z26's are HORRIBLE track pads. Took the Z06 to the track with a new-ish set of Z26's (didn't have time to pop in the track pads, and foolishly figured I could get by for one day with the Z26's); in the one day the pads went from new to metal on metal. Cost me a set of rotors as well as the pads....:-(...)

Ok so I removed the wear indicator from the inner pads on both sides and re-lubed the relevant surfaces and the rotational squeak from both right and left sidesremains. It's literally intolerable and ever-present. I am going to call the manufacturer tomorrow to see what gives. It's not like this is my first R&R for front pads and rotors... even on this vehicle. I've had the Brembos since 2015 and have had to replace the pads already once since the caliper install / initial pads and rotors..

Define track? LIke some 1/4 mile passes? Or are you referring more to an autocross-type track day?

In my definition:
Track day=HPDE (high performance driving event)=a circuit course or road course of 1.5-3 miles in length, with a combination of left turns, right turns, sweepers, and straightaways, that give drivers the opportunity to test their limits and/or their car's limits. Think Sebring, Watkins Glen, VIR, Spring Mountain, Summit Point, etc etc etc....

I got you. So not solo like autocross but an actual race on a road-racing track? I can see how that (or even autocrossing it) might be REALLY, REALLY HARD on brake linings, especially if they are not designed as such.

Me? I'm more interested in a few / several straight line performance runs a couple of days a year wherein my vehicle experiences WOT conditions for 1320 ft followed by what is usually a nice, easy deceleration from ~100+ mph to 5mph :p. Hopefully these brake linings are capable of this :)

Yes but not racing. At these events cars are spaced apart as they enter the track, and there are no standings, and there is no official clock. There are usually strict rules on when and where (and how) to pass, which vary depending upon the experience level of the given run group. At Summit Point Main you enter the 2900 foot straightaway at about 75 mph, you keep the pedal mashed (except for an upshift for those of us with manuals) and get up to 135-160 mph (depending upon the car and the driver), and then MASH the brake pedal in time to make a tight 180 degree hairpin turn. Yeah....brakes and tires take a beating......

Well either way, I quickly opened the front brakes up again and applied what lube I had left in the tiny packet that powerstop provided. This time I was a bit more liberal with application on the pad backs in spite of the guidance provided by powerstop in their youtube account (
)... and things seem a BIT better, but still not up to par with my expectations and it still sounds like a wreck to any pedestrians who would be hearing my truck pass by. Situation is not making me happy and Ill be reaching out to Powerstop probably tomorrow :/

Ok so 3rd time's a charm. More importantly, I believe my personal code reader detected error ID: 10t... It was definitely a PEBKAC issue... When I called PowerStop, they basically told me to go way more hard with the lube on the pad backing plate.

In any event, they are nice and quiet now and they stop good... and I won't take them autocrossing :).
