I have a 2012 Dodge Durango 5.7 Hemi. The engine light comes on, the traction control light comes on and the transmission will not shift past 4 th gear. I restart the engine and traction control light goes out and stays out until engine cools down. Engine codes are P000B and P0344. Replaced the crank sensor with dodge part and changed the oil pressure sensor under the intake manifold and intake gasket replaced again after new motor. I’m sooooo frustrated. I see it’s a common problem. Has anyone actually repaired the issue. Please HELP!!

Main battery. Everyone throws parts at these gremlins without replacing or testing the battery.

Yup, in his OTHER post about this issue.

Who did the install? Was this a DIY? If not, I'd be right back to wherever the work was done. They have not finished the job yet.

Then you took it to the wrong place to begin with.

Ok on the paid install. Has the installer refused to dig in and find out what the issue is? I assume this issue, was not the reason you replaced the engine in the first place yes?
Did it work correctly after the install, or did this situation arise after a period of time?

Update for all, since no one else posted the problem and repair. After months of messing around, I finally got pissed off and took the Durango to the Dodge dealer. The problem was an oil pressure issue. On idol the oil pressure was only 12 PSI, @ 1000rpm it was only 20 PSI, Dodge mechanic stated the oil pressure has to be 32 PSI to properly operate the VVT solenoid which is kicking on the engine and traction control lights.
There you go since no one else posted, You see post I changed my oil and it corrected the problem for alittle while. Well that’s because you have clean oil and better oil pressure.

P000B and P520 CODES can kiss my ass, got you figured out bitches!!!

So did you replace the oil pressure sender or the oil pump?

I'm very glad you got this figured out. It's quite unusual though, to have an oil pressure issue on a new engine. This makes me wonder if the wrong grade of oil, or a defective oil filter had been installed from the get go?

What was the cause, switch, oil, oil filter, oil pump, gauge?

Ha ha, a solution with no solution.

Long blocks do not usually come with the sensors, accessories, valve covers or intake manifold. I am guessing that all of his old stuff was swapped over. If that’s the case, I would guess it was just a failed sensor, possible damaged during the swap.

I have a similar problem with intermittent P0344 code kicking in engine/traction control lights, stalling at higher speed (which could be related to not shifting into 4th gear), changed cam/crankshaft/oil pressure sensors, went to dealer for diagnosis yesterday which determined that oil pressure is low. This is an ATK re-manufactured engine replaced 5K mi ago and may be in same situation with shop asking for engine to be re-replaced potentially requesting Jasper instead. Did you notice any engine knocking on deceleration or down grades?
