Got a 2018 R/T and added AAWireless Android Auto adapter. As the two front USB ports (under the radio) are wired constant it causes havock for our phones as it tries to connect to the car instead of the house WiFi. The AAWireless has a feature to only connect after Bluetooth connection the vehicle but it doesn't always work and the last used function no longer works in this mode.

Saw on the full size Ram trucks they have option to move the fuse to switch modes but didn't see that on the Durango nor noticed anything in settings. Short of rewiring I was curious if there was another way to change the ports to switched power from constant?

I ran into the same issue with AA wireless on my wife's Jeep. I tried the Motorola gizmo and it does the same thing. she just got into the habit of unplugging it but every so often, she says, Mark go out and unplug the Motorola (prior it was AA wireless) If you find an answer then post what it is.

I'm not ready to start modifying the RT just yet so I may return it and go back to corded. My first would be to add the in-dash tow from 2019. I have another one for my S10 and it works great since its switched power via the headunit.

I will say too I never realized how much my phone was topped off while using AA and how I need to charge it more now.

I have the Motorola wireless adapter since it was available and no problems with it. My 19sxt usb connections turn off after a few minutes after turned off engine and doors closed. The vehicle sits right outside next to the house and does not try to connect. Check settings in the radio.

If you don't want to modify your wiring to add a relay, then I would suggest a simple USB power switch.
