2020 RT 30k service

My next service will be 3 years/30k and the dealer is recommending

1- engine flush
2- brake flush

I am against engine flush as I have been using full synthetic oil from the very beginning and have been changing it at every 5k. I see no value in engine flush and it’s not in the manual either.

For the brake flush, I could not find anything in the manual. Should I get it done or is it only an up sell from dealer that is not required?

You're correct, neither is required by the manual nor recommended by anyone else besides dealers. They are money grabs.

They want to do engine flush. Remove the oil, put in special oil, run the engine for an hour, then replace the oil with synthetic oil.
The coolant on Durango is good for 5 years I think (will check manual to be sure)

Look at the service chart in your owners manual and follow it accordingly.

Don't let them do this engine flush. The fluid (I will not call it oil) they use is extremely high in detergents. I would be worried about the cleaners attacking gasket materials and even metal possibly leading to premature wear.

Oh yes. It’s a big no for me.

I was more curious about brake flush but could not find it in manual. My other vehicle (non dodge) requires brake flush every 2 years 🙁

Show your dealership this and ask them if they provide a warranty supplement with that oil flush...

Ya. If you search on YouTube (engine flush) you will get the details. Almost all the videos state why you should not do it.

I would tell them 🖕all they do is recommend all services that are not needed, I have a 05 5.7 Durango with 251k and I don’t let anyone touch it but myself. Especially that s”stealerships” tell them you already do flush your engine every 3-6k when you change your oil. Honestly that’s all you need, as for any of the other fluids I do agree but never add any “flush” products to your engine or anything else. A simple fluid drain and refill is all you need and of course a oil filter or any other filter. I’m 44 and I have maintained many different vehicles but with my Durango I do synthetic blend oil changes every 4k and that’s it for that. I recommend doing a transmission fluid and filter change every 50k but not with any additives or anything, just a oem trans filter and pan gasket and new fluid that it recommends. I also wipe and clean all the metal partials off the magnet that’s in the trans pan. And as for anything else I change my antifreeze every year right before winter and that’s about it. I drained both my axels also and put fresh gear oil in them but that’s only because my truck has 250k.and I changed the brake fluid also only because my master cylinder and calipers were bad and I had to bleed the hell out of the system to get all the air out.
