I have a 2000 Dodge Durango, it was running fine a couple of days ago until I forgot to put the coolant cap on… fluid coolant went everywhere and I couldn’t really stop because of this huge winter weather we were having I had to keep driving till I could find an exit. (Durango ran fine up till I turned motor off just got warm).

It started out to be a p352 I think, bad coil number 2 slot. I changed that and drove it home. Super rough idle moves between 1000 and 300, dies if I apply the breaks. The next day I ran the new code. P202 I replaced the injector, used a noid light (blinks like the others).

I’m thinking the wiring and the Ecu are fine. I tested the ohms to the tan wire on the injector to the 15 pin on ecu I get .01 and it moves slightly up and down.I think that means it works good but not sure. I got a new connector and replaced that just to eliminate it. I replaced the iac because I know I have had issues in the past with my other Durango where it really messed up my idle. At the moment I’m at a loss and not sure what to check next. Any ideas?

After I clear the code all codes are gone until I idle the Durango for a few minutes then the p202 codes comes back. That battery came with the car when I bought it last year. It’s a strong battery though havnt needed a jump forgot my interior lights on all night once and car started without any issues. Yes it’s a 4.7

If the engine was awash in coolant, my guess is that you have coolant in places it should not be, like plug wells, harnes connectors, etc. When you can, I would closely inspect all of the cracks/crevices it has likely gone, and see if that takes care of your issue.

I went through and dried everything out that was wet. Pulled all the spark plugs dried and put them back replaced the #2 plug and coil. Dried out the little spaces between the plugs. When I look at the hood from underneath it shows it exploded straight up and most of it went by the tb. I switched the relay for the auto shut off or asd I think it’s called. I pulled the computer from my car last night and brought it inside to warm up and dry out if it got wet but it looks very dry and dusty lol.

Ok on drying out as much as you could. The erratic idle makes me thing vacuum leak. Even though the battery seems strong, I would have it tested to rule it out. Possibly the TPS (throttle position sensor) has fluid inside it, or it's harness connection?

So I was wondering if it would effect the tps, I was going to buy a new one in a couple of hours when it opens up and I can get a ride. I was thinking maybe it got sucked into the tb and messed up the tps. The tps did get wet, The po had put stop leak in there for the heater core so everything that got hit has some shiny copper spots. I have a brand new battery in my garage I can just hook up. I bought it a year or two ago but only used it once. I keep it as my backup.

Try this:
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Depress the brake pedal for 30 seconds, then reconnect and fire it up. Don't touch anything, and let it idle a good 10 minutes with fresh data.

Report back what happens.

P0202 is still around? that's puzzling.
That is a "circuit" fault, meaning the wiring to the #2 injector or the injector itself is open or shorted (or the PCM is bad).

might be worth swapping the #2 injector with its neighbor

#2 is right up front, it might have taken a good bath... coolant doesn't "dry off", you may need to do more cleaning..

So figured it out, no compression cylinder number 2. I’m picking up a 78 d150 today and getting a new motor for the d as soon as I can. I was going to do a rebuild after finding that out, but it has 250,000 miles on it.
