Happy holidays all!

Beginning of October I brought my 1900 mile DD that got delivered to my house Mid August. I brought it in for laundry list of items from AC blower/condenser being faulty, AC fans rubbing on flaps or something when you change modes, Driver seat issues, Steering wheel alignment, Various rattles from stereo in doors and dash, and couple other items I figured a new car shouldnt have. Anyway at 1900 miles I asked for Synthetic oil be changed, 11 days later Thats all they did was change oil, but in the video they used a Synthetic Blend. My question is now I am at 4800 miles, approaching 3000 miles since oil change, since they put blend in do I need to get it changed at the 3K mile mark 4900 miles? My Uconect app says I have 63% oil life left. I absolutely cannot get anyone at the dealership to answer or return my calls from the Advisor to the Service manager to the dealership manager, or @DodgeCares for the past 2 months. Dealership cant even give me my paperwork from the oil change, just happened to zoom in on the video I was sent. Never have dealt with anything like this in 30 years of driving cars.... @DodgeCares actually asked me what type of oil my car manual asks for....

Anyway. With synthetic blend what are the mileage intervals I need to get oil changed at if anyone could assist me on this one.

Thanks all

So after 11 days they only did an oi change with the wrong oil. What pisses me off is they did not even bother to reset your oil life meter. 🤣😂 Really though, synth blend will get you the same life as full synth if you are all highway driving but stop and go I would change it at 5k with full synth then start your normal routing. Easier to keep track that way.

yes 11 days.... But they did order parts........ I sat there for an hour waiting for them to find my key and paperwork, luckily I got my key and left, they still have not billed me. @DodgeCares is absolutely useless same with Dodge corp. I obviously cant get any help or even a person on the phone at dealership level. This experience with the dealership (also I've been on the "loaner waiting list" since October. This the Single reason I will not be driving another Dodge again, ever. Period. I Come from long line of BMW's with polite service center, loaners and great communication. This is the most bizarre experience I have ever been thru.

Who is the dealer?
Napleton's Northlake Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM
3701 Northlake Blvd, Lake Park, FL 33403

Not for nuthin but my buddy had a horrendous experience with them in their Acura store...like Acura had to buy it back because this dealer bamboozled a recall and a service....just craptastic customer service...

Notorious here in FL for being 💩 !!!

Ditto Rob (so aptly named) Lambdin's University Dodge !

Most Mopar dealers use a synthetic blend for a 5w20 refill. I believe that is the factory fill oil type used.
You'll be fine running it to term using the on-board oil change indicator...no need to pull out early. You're running a NA V8...not a turbo 4 or twin turbo 6....so easier on the oil.

Thanks all! Happy Holidays!
Yes, Just dont want Dodge coming back at me saying I put the wrong oil in or went too long without servicing the car since its a lease. On Month 6 this thing goes onto LeaseTrader and Swapalease. I cant deal with having a dealer or Dodge being absent or un able to even help. Too bad, really like the DD, the Brakes, the way it looks and sounds, drives great. Just cant be Ubering with a baby seat (3 yr old daughter) and not dealing with renting a car on top of lease payment ( or hoping dodge reimburses me back $35 a day for "up to 10 days"). The support just isnt there with this brand. I'll be leasing another M5 or buying a certified X5M, its worth the confidence, loaners and brand with my work and 3 yr old as a single dad, got enough stress :)

I'm not defending the dealer, but I did find this in the 2022 owner's manual (page 216): "An authorized dealer will reset the oil change indicator message after completing the scheduled oil change." You didn't have them do a scheduled oil change. Still, I'd think they'd reset the indicator at every oil change, scheduled or not.

Since the manual says (page 266) "We recommend using Mopar® SAE 0W-20 Full Synthetic Engine Oil which meets the requirements of the manufacturer Material Standard MS-6395. Equivalent full synthetic SAE 0W-20 engine oil can be used but must have the API Starburst trademark.", I don't understand how any Dodge dealer can say they are using a Dodge-specified oil if they use a synth blend. I know that dealers are trying to save money, i.e. cut corners, every way they can, but using a synth blend seems to go against Dodge's recommendation. You shouldn't have to tell a dealer service department to service your vehicle as Dodge specifies.

Something's fishy about your story. They let you leave the dealership with your vehicle that they had done work on without producing a work order and charging you for the work done? What guarantee do they have that you'll bring the vehicle back? How do they plan to bill you for the work they did?

I think all those questions are the reason why he is dumping it in 6 months.
Dealer most likely has excess oil and are just dumping it into what ever.
I had my Dodge dealer put regular oil in my SRT-10 ( I watched through the garage open door). I knew it was not Mobil 1 which the damn truck called for EVEN ON THE OIL CAP! I went into the service writer and said WTF. Well they ran around and blamed the parts guy. LOL I said does the tech working onmy SRT read english cause if he does it is his fault. I got the oild change again with Mobil 1 and the next 2 oil changes for free. Mopar dealers are average to below average in how they handle customers and repair work. IT SUCKS!

There isnt anything Fishy about my story period... Just my getting frustrated and borderline rude with the situation.
They couldnt find my paperwork. Only reason I know "oil semi synthetic" was used is because of video link that was texted to me with 1941 miles on the clock. After an hour or so Nigel saw I was wearing really thin and gave me my key, he couldnt find my work order either. Attaching some Texts and messages with service people at dealer and DodgeCares. Nothing fishy on my side. I'm a tad embarrassed on how frustrated I have gotten with all of them in the text and messages, but we've reached stupid on this one. I am telling them what manual says lol... Pics attached.

First off.... sorry to hear your poor dealer experience is souring your taste in the Durango...As most of us would agree, the dealer experience really can make or break the attitude on the vehicle. I can only assume, even with your issues, if they were attended to promptly and resolved to your satisfaction, you would have an issue with your vehicle.

Today's cars have better oil filtration, improved tolerances, improved motor oil, I wouldn't have an issue with 5k oil changes with normal driving. I think the continuance of the 3000 mile oil change is driven by the fast oil change establishments, of which many are owned by big oil companies.

your wrong.... I built this one from website and got a great deal, great SUV for me and my daughter. We take it for rides, why so many miles..

If they attended to the issues on a new car I would be fine with it. This has gone on for so long with no answers. Its to the point to where yes, I dont like the brand/Dealer. If BMW had ever done this game with me I would feel abandoned in the same way. This is my first time dealing with nonsense like this.

Dealerships are not owned by the manufacturer, they're a franchise so I don't think Dodge can help other than get parts for repairs or offer to pick up repair costs outside of warranty. Same with any other manufacturer including BMW.
Most of us would have simply found another dealer to work with...but yeah, I'd say if you're use to the experience of a luxury brand, you'll find that lacking with a mainstream brand for the most part.

It has been a bit of a conundrum with Chrysler in general. Always pretty desirable engineering and products, but quality and the ability for the dealer service to address the technology when faulted has been sketchy. You get a ton of vehicle for the price, but that makes sense when you hit these kinds of issues. My guess is, this is why you have privateer mopar gurus. I like alot of the current Dodge offerings, but I like to work on my own stuff and I am pretty comfortable with most car tech.

Premium brands don't have much more car, but the surrounding support is another level, and most likely is considered in the pricing.
