Looking for help bc my husband is out of town and I’m having car trouble. My 2012 citadel started smoking out of the hood yesterday morning. Earlier that morning I noticed my heater wasn’t working inside the vehicle. It seemed to be white smoke from the hood but it’s hard to say as I live in Canada and everything is white right now. We assumed it was coolant so that was filled up and the thermostat was also replaced. I took it to the gym today and no smoke but heater still not working. On the way home it started smoking again and I started hearing whah I can only describe as a flapping noise under the hood. I was just down the street from my house so I made it home. Once cooled down I checked the oil level and it is just below the lower tick, so not completely out but obviously I need oil but would this explain it all? I don’t want to fill the oil and continue to drive it and incur more damage. Any ideas??

white smoke is probably steam. With everything else you mentioned there is something wrong with the cooling system.
You should top up the oil, but that's not the problem.
Check that the radiator is full, and get it to a mechanic near your house (don't drive very far)

Today omw to drop my children's of at school, just lots of white smoke coming from the hood no vibration are knocking of any sounds quite like newborn baby. But smoke kept coming faster and stronger I pulled over due because I was travelling with all my kids figured best get them out. First I thought it was my water pump but my gauge was normal. I look under my car after open the hood and there was leaking Brown things I figured no antifreeze are oil was my first thought, so I put 3 bottles of oil and antifreeze just hold me of until I got children's to school and me to mechanic, but after did all of above it kept smoking still.

You got it to the mechanic rght? They should figure it out for you!

The read reminds me of listening to one of my executives who is from Moscow.
Maybe head gasket? Either way get to a mechanic ASAP!
