Hi all.

New to the forum. I'm looking to purchase a '23 SRT 392 Durango in the coming months. I know order banks are already open, but does anybody know when they will close? I'm looking to buy sometime in May or June, and want to make sure they will still be available to order then.

Appreciate your help.

Cheers,

Rob

Welcome.
It the last year of production, so anything goes. Don't wait too long. Keep in mind that it'll probably take at least a few months to get built/delivered from the time you order.

The window is open but allocations are very limited. Most dealers are trying to get above MSRP to place an order....I have seen anywhere from $5K-$20K above MSRP for SRT 392's, and $50K above for Hellcats. They might get more allocations as time goes by...but typically ordering windows close in the spring so that they can finish that year's build and tool up for the next model year over the summer.....so waiting is a gamble.

I had to push hard to get my order in at MSRP. Never paid MSRP for any vehicle before, but am feeling like I got a "deal." Of course we'll have to see if the car actually gets built....and whether the "limited availability" holds up, or whether I got bamboozled by the "last of the hemi" buzz.....

Dealer said to expect a 4-6 month wait. Not sure where that number comes from, but I waited 4 months last year for a Caddy CT5-V Blackwing that never got built (well I cancelled the order after 4 months)...so my expectations are low.

Last year of production, get your order in now. They decide to build 500 and close the factory you'll be out of luck.

Talk to another dealer. Mine was happy to order whatever I wanted without a penny over MSRP (and several thousand below, in fact for my '23). Allocations are different than custom orders... if you're buying off the lot, then yes, expect to pay more. But if you're custom ordering and willing to wait, you shouldn't.

I can't find the current Koons numbers on a Durango, but I'm sure they'll do a below-invoice deal.

I'm happy with my buying experience with them on my '23 GC-L

Probably location-dependent. I spoke to 3 local dealers and got pretty much the same answer from all 3. When allocations are limited like they supposedly are with SRT and Hellcats, and they think that they can get above MSRP for each allocation, they will try to do exactly that. I got my 2019 SRT for well below MSRP.....but seemingly not possible at the moment.

I could broaden my search to outside of the local area, but am not inclined to do that at the moment....

It will take 11 months from my date of order to finally receive our 2022 DDSRT. We ordered on 03/26/22 and it entered into production on 11/28/2022. By the time it is built and shipped it will arrive at Koon's sometime the first of January we hope. If you truly want one you need to ACT NOW! Allocations are even more restricted on the 23's than on the 22's. Remember JNAP has already been retooled as 2024 DD production is moving to MACK assembly so I think they will end 23 production sometime in July/August to convert the plant over for 24 production which WILL NOT be the DD.

From Hellcat.org - Edit - This was 2022 model year. 2023 may be different!

Continuing on with our great factory order group buys, we would like to introduce 5% under invoice on all Hellcats! No gimmick, no BS. Simply reach out to Koonsgroupbuy@gmail.com to start your order.

We also offer:
$10000 off TRX
$7000 off Wrangler 392
6% Below invoice on 1500, 2500 and 3500's.
6% Below on Durango SXT, GT and R/T
5% Below on Durango SRT 392

PLEASE use the contact information provided below. If you inquire a different way we will not know that you are a forum member!!!

Also a plug for DARcars in Rockville, Maryland, no ADM for factory orders, at least in my experience.

Edit: that experience was: 2021 Durango SRT 392 at MSRP and forthcoming 2023 Chrysler 300C at MSRP (fingers crossed).

Remember Koon's is going to charge you a $900.00 DOC fee. It was 6% on SRT's for 2022.
"Doc Fee" is extremely common.

The %under fluctuates over time, depending on what they get on the other side of the deal. Sometimes there are other things; for example, my order got an extra $1000 off for financing with Chrysler, which you can pay off after three payments.

Lol... by the laws of volumes the 392 ci will have to have 6.4 L..
I say the 392 so people don’t get confused with the hellcat. Durango 392 SRT. “If the 6.4 will be available in the Durango 392 SRT” just using 392 to identify the SRT. People have been getting confused and some now calling the Durango hellcat “SRT”

I wish we knew if the 6.4 will be available in the 2024 durango 392
There will be no 2024 Durango as we know it today. JNAP was closed for two months (10 weeks actually) starting in March of last year for re-tooling. The next generation Durango will be built at MACK assembly the same place the Grand Cherokee is being built. The only platform at MACK getting a HEMI for 2023 is the Wagoneer.
