Hi there.
I have a Dodge Durango 2018 GT
I moved from Ukraine to Spain because of the war and in order to get Spanish plates for my car, I need to change the rear turn signals from red to yellow.
Perhaps some of you have experienced this and can help me. Or maybe someone knows where to buy new taillights with amber turn signals already installed.
I have been trying for a few days now to find a solution to my question and so far no results.

I need it to look something like the photo below, for European standards
Thanks

Don’t know but I’m gonna be watching this thread because I think the yellow would look nice on the back.

Edit:

Just found this on YouTube. Maybe reach out to these folks.

Thanks. I spoke to these guys. They will be able to do this within 3-4 weeks, during which time I will not be able to use my car. That's why I use this option if I don't find another one

Hi
I found a solution, without physical alteration, but I ran into another problem.

I connected to the car via Appcar DiagFCA, went to the Programming tab and selected Combined Rear stop and turn lights configuration. Next, I had two settings: for the USA and for Europe, I chose for Europe. Now, for turn signals, not red diodes shine, but bulbs on the central lamp (as in the video), and this suits me. But the problem is that after activating this setting, when the turn signal on the steering wheel is on, it flashes about 10 times at normal speed, and then starts flashing very quickly.

Also, after changing the settings, the following error was displayed: B1642-15

When I returned the settings from Europe to the USA, after some turning on the turn signal, the blinking speed returned to normal.

Maybe someone knows what could be the matter?

So, friends
I solved this problem.

By European standards, I needed yellow turn signals.

On my DD they are red.

What I've done:
Bought a license for Appcar DiagFCA.
In this program, I chose the item:
"Combined rear STOP and TURNING lights."
Next, I have two options:
  • for Europe
  • for USA
I chose for Europe and saved the settings.

If your DD is before 2014, then these settings are enough. But if after 2014, you should additionally disable the diagnostic lines of the rear lights - set the following parameters as "Disabled":
ECU Configuration 11 (Using CBC I/O): Using Rear Left Door Half Open Switch
ECU configuration 11 (CBC I/O use): Right rear door half open switch use.

And then everything will work for you.
After the Durango's rear brake lights have been coded to EU mode, reversing lights closer to the license plate will work as turn signals. You can easily change the bulbs to the color you want.

My costs were about 100 euros (purchasing a license for Appcar DiagFCA, buying elm327 and I needed a 12+8 Pin Connector Cable Adaptor, settings were not applied without it. )

Probably still can be done with alfaobd but seems like diagFCA adds pre-configured changes. Have you done a pre and post comparison of your BCM configuration to see what changes have been implemented?

As for the need of the adapter cable, was it because the lower bus speed needed to be accessed and the elm327 interface you were using did not have internal jumper capability?

I did not check the changes, it was enough for me that everything works.

Yes, this can be done through alfaobd, at least there is a first point for separating stop signals.
And I'm sure that there are other two points there, for DD 2014+, I also have this program, someday I'll see how to do it through alfaobd and write instructions here.

Also, I want to thank you, my dear friend Duh-rango, for your help and support)

Now I need to install the rear fog lights.
I wrote about it HERE
Appcar has the ability to enable them, but they are not physically present. And for me this is a disaster, since I do not understand electrics.

Too bad you don't have a JGC as I have the OEM fog light kit just sitting in my garage as I never installed because I wrecked my 2013 JGC before I could.

Hello ,

I like how you did conversion of your rear lights on your DD , but I do not understand what exactly did you do with 12+8 pin connector .
Can you explain me more in detail how you did it?

Thank you for your help.
