Hi, I'm a dodge dude, and thinking about getting a new Durango. I'm glad to have found this place. I have a question about parking. I had a Charger, and it just fit in out garage - there was some play/room front to back, but not a lot. I understand the Durango is a teeny bit longer that the Charger. Would anyone have comments on how theirs fits? It's a standard construction size garage (lol whatever that might mean), built about 20 years ago.

Many thanks

@Hamsquatch weclome ot the forum and you are going to love how Durangos drive/ride. If you get an SRT or R/T TnG the handeling is super! Standard R/T handeling is good and FWIW can be pushed further then you may think just like the SRT models. The GT Plus with towing package handles very good too.

Hey folks, thanks for the replies.

A couple more newbie questions. I read some stuff about some of the SRTs having weak pr potentially weak transfer cases. Is that still the case with current production? And if it is, does having a tow package on it possibly provide for any beefed up components in the transfer case?

It's a single speed transfer case and I've not read any reports of weak failings of it. You just have to be sure to have the same diameter tires on each corner with very close tread depths or the transfer case can be damaged.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I was neck deep in some random forum late one night, and thought I read the transfer case specs between the R/Ts and SRTs were different, that the R/T transfer case was actually stronger, and that some of those fitted to the SRTs apparently sometimes suffered some failures when pushed. Some in the thread also said similar had occurred with some Trackhawks. But I have no idea how old the thread was and of course can't verify any of it.

Ah-ha! I think it was the SRT forum on this site that I was reading the above on. .
Anyhoo, if this is actually a concern, I still kinda wonder if it's history, or still present on current production, and if it is, would having a tow package on an SRT possibly change the specs for its transfer case.

Towing package makes no difference.

Hi, I have a newer home with a fairly large garage and it just fit. In order to get things out of the back I have to lave the garage door up. It was an adjustment after having my Jeep GC which fit just fine.
