Vegas1, understandable. But I wouldn't worry about open vents and let them work as designed. If they were a problem, Dodge/SRT wouldn't have sold thousands (hundreds of thousands) of SRT vehicles since 2014 maybe even earlier without a redesign.
I'll just leave this here. I'm more worried about tree crap falling on it. From nasty green yellow pollen to tree branches or even the whole tree falling on it. Snow and rain but so much. Driven from rain to freezing rain to blizzard. The entire front was glazed in ice. And the rear was covered in snow. The hood vents remained clear.

Well I’m a retired certified journeyman mechanic and it’s not a design that’s required because it has a big engine, it’s simply just a custom look, but at the same time it does extract some heat from the engine compartment, you need to think outside the box. Again it’s not a requirement! And as for covering up the vents is to each his own, I rather keep the snow and ice out from under the hood, I’ve seen pictures of a car with the hood vents open and snow all over the engine, why would you want that, I don’t. If big engine’s causes so much heat they would have thought of the vents yrs ago, that big V8 gets just as hot as any other engine no matter how long the car has been running or being in a state that produces extremely high temperature’s like (Nevada or Arizona). I take great pride and care for my car and plan to keep it that way for my own purpose, everyone else can do as they please it’s your car not mine. Honestly it’s just common sense. Enjoy your day 😎
