We have a 2020 Durango RT w/ a 5.7 Hemi and the Trailer Tow package. Hitch is a class 4 (not sure of capacity) with Trailer Brake Control. I believe this setup allows us to tow 7,400lbs.

We are looking at a new tritoon boat that weighs 3,545lbs plus trailer around 1,200lbs for a total of 4,745lbs. Looking for advice if we would have any problems especially with swaying. I believe the brakes are surge brakes with the tritoon trailer thanks!

If you have the tow package on a 2020 then you should have a built in trailer brake controller under the start button of the dash. Put electric brakes on the trailer and use the controller and you should be good. I just realized that the factory controller is probably only on 21s and up.

A weight distribution hitch with sway control is always a good idea for a heavy load, especially if you'll be pulling down the highway and not just back country roads at lower speeds. A lot of the WDH setups these days work with surge brakes too.

This setup is well within the capacity of your DD. If you are able, you will want to weigh your vehicle and trailer at a truck stop to ensure you aren't overloading rear axle of the DD. Keep in mind that passengers and cargo in the back of the DD directly load the rear axle as well.

Thanks everyone. I do have the brake controller. I believe most newer trailers have surge brake systems vs. electric. Haven't bought yet but good to know I shouldn’t have any problems.
