First and foremost, Howdy fellow Durango Peep's! I am needing some help/ Advice on my Durango. I have spent the last 2 days getting Google BS over load on answers to a question I didn't ask lol! So what better place to get help then from people that actually own one Right!?! Ok so here it goes auxillary water pump can anyone take a picture of the hoses that run from it to the main water pump or know where a person could actually find that visual aid/Diagram!?! I believe mine are well on wrong. And 2. Where is a good place /website to find OEM parts or even Aftermarket parts? I'm mainly looking for a windshield/wiper cowl replacement mine leaks bad! And would like to find some aftermarket rims for it ( mostly cause stock has those little center caps on them and I have bought so many and they will not stay on because I live on a pretty ruff dirt road (understatement on the pretty ruff!) And also maybe a Grill Guard do they even make them for the Durango? I dont think I have ever seen one on one before, but with the insane amount of suicidal deer in my neck of the woods I believe it would come in handy! Lol! I would Greatly appreciate any help/information anyone could give me on any of these items and questions listed above! T.I.A 😘

Make sure you familiarize yourself with the 04 5.7 hydrolock issue and do your work to prevent it. That is step 1 for any 04 Durango with the Hemi. As that issue will quickly turn your vehicle into scrap.

Welcome. As for parts, it is a hit or miss kinda thing for me. I must have 30 different webpages open for different parts on my 05' limited. But, here's a few to check. Rockauto, carid, summit, mopargiant, and Amazon. It took me weeks to find a site for a simple visor support. And if you have any sites to share, I'd be grateful

When you can find Mopar parts that you need buy Mopar parts .Yes aftermarket are cheaper or i should say built cheap most do not work on 2004 Dodge durango 5.7 hemi .They look like they are the same but they really are not .And like your Electronic Throttle position sensor aftermarket will not work .And remember this any time you need to replace electronic parts like PCM ,Cluster,Front Control Module & others You will need new ones only & that not easy to find .Thank you Dodge the most important parts that keep 2004 durango on the Road They no longer make Part for . Reason is Why I have no answer but No . Also Dodge the new 2 Generation Durango Dodge Has Branded all Electronic Board with your VIN number .So used Electronic parts from another Durango 2004 will not work for your Durango . Now there is still hope for you that if you buy used electronic parts and install them in your durango you will need to have it haul to a Dodge Dealer & tell them what you installed & they MIGHT be able to use there $10,000 mahine to your durango have it coded to make it run . Now cost is about $120 bucs for that service BUT . If they can not get it coded .Then you still have a chance .You can ask Dodge parts dept for a phone number or website that you send your Electronic part to and hopefully they can rebrand you durango VIN number in it & that should work for you .I bet you are asking WHY did i ask , But I am letting you know what i found out from other on Dodge Form & by making mistake myself working on a durango 2004 that i did not know what i was doing at first . Electronics is not my favorite to do or figure out .So please be carefully on working on it .Wish you best of luck .PS they also have whats called a BUS system on 2004 durango now that another NIGHT Mare i still do not understand .But it will not run without the BUS System working right or giving most things a signal that tells it ok let it run ok .Good luck .Hope this helps u some what .!! If you have question that i can answer to help please ask ok .

LMC.com they have a whole parts catalog you can download and order from but still can't find windshield cowl or even the seal that goes around it anywhere. Thanks for the info!

Wow! Really know how to spice up a party don't ya! Lol! Well this Durango belonged to my mom and she passed away a year ago and I inherited it and I already knew a couple things that needed done like the front main seal was leaking and the waterpump was going also before I got the chance to start working on it, the alternator quit so that just put it in motion so I bought all the parts and seals and crap which I needed up getting 3 seals first one was the wrong one second I put in backwards and 3rd well I already knew not to put it in backwards again anyway got it all back together a year later I might add between work and life crap had a hard time having time to work on it plus I don't have a shop to work in and weather wasn't my best friend working on it either! Anyway I got it back together all the new parts in and new fluids fired it up sounded good ran good but it has an odd noise it never had before I'm not sure where it was coming from either then it started running pretty ruff so I parked it and found that my radiator is split along the top and i checked codes on it and now I know why most mechanics drink lol! I cuss Dodge alot and don't understand why they had to make crap so difficult they did fine with the old chargers and power wagons and prospectors didn't have all this extra electrical crap lol! Thanks for responding and thanks for the info it's much appreciated!

@ MoparBow:
From my 2004 D factory service manual.

Don
Where can a person find a service manual at? Are they available online or??? That would have been alot more handy then the Chilton's manual that I have and of course YouTube videos I used to make fun of that type stuff but I'm gna have to say I'm glad there is videos out there! Saved my butt a couple times working on this thing! Thank you for the info your awesome!

MoparBow:
I found the 4 manual set on Ebay used, for around $50. Re the Cowl issue, you can search Gen 2 cowl upgrade here, and see my thread from updating my '04s cowl.

Well I am one of the people that would need that 6661 pages with pictures as well! This is my first time working on a Durango I grew up working on 70s and 80s model Dodges and Chevrolets back when everything didn't have all the electrical crap to it! But I'm the type of person that wants to learn and believes I can do anything if I put my mind to it lol! Let me tell ya that's a whole lot of mind to put into fixing a vehicle lol! But momma didn't raise a quitter! Lol!

I can provide the 2004 Durango FSM in PDF format. Send me a message and I'll get things set up so you can download it from me.

Don's find for the 4 manual set @ $50 is a find. They're almost double that now when you can find them in paper edition.

Had this issue with our '04 Hemi Durango in 2010. It rained the night before and when the wife went out to start it; wouldn't turn over. I messed around with it for a few minutes and suddenly it started and seemed to be OK.
On the way home that evening it slung a rod through the side of the block.

After doing some research I discovered the issue of a cracked intake leak water right into the cylinders. I noticed before that it would sometimes stumble when idling in the rain, but not all the time.
I still have the engine. It has been on the same stand for 12 years.

Dr Rightous:
Not a pretty sight! What was the build date on that '04D, and at what mileage did this happen?

Wow. Not pulled the plastic off that engine in years. Engine just had over 130k I believe when it happened but up till it failed it always ran great. The engine was produced in '03 if I recall.

I hung on to all these years because it is 'fixable' with the right techniques.
The crank journals looked perfect, the cylinder bores looks good. The other 7 pistons/rods all looked good.
It just need the hole in the block fixed, new rod, piston, rings, and 2 valves and oil pan and windage tray.

FWIW the 2004 Hemi blocks were the best (until 2010/11 when they changed) Not the rods but structural design of the block itself.
Same with teh 6.2 Hemi of 2008-2010 and again for the 6.2 Hellcat engines.
