I assume that one could replace the exhaust on an 2018-2020 R/T with the exhaust from the 2021 Tow N Go R/T. Anyone looked into this yet?
I didn't see another thread on the issue.

thank you for the reply. this is very interesting. I do believe the MPE (mopar performance exhaust) might be the best option out there. My only somewhat concern is if it's "too loud" but I don't think so based on what i've read and I can't imagine it's louder than a stock scat (although my sons set up is lol).Yes, spot-on experience...said (written) better and more succinctly than me. Trying to duplicate the factory T&G note is like the T&G exhaust mimicking the Mopar exhaust. Neither is quite there, not perfect. There are two engineering teams, SRT and Mopar, and for the exhausts they built, each hit their design goals. As I've learned through my friend's experience with his 2018 RT, the Mopar exhaust flows freer (also with Hemi hat and airbox out, replaced with K&N cold air set-up) and carries with it a more raspy tone than the '21 T&G (SRT) exhaust (my ear). It also has more volume in-cabin under load...but like the T&G...no drone during cruising. Both T&G and Mopar exhaust do reflect the in-house engineering expertise of the 5.7 and 6.4. That's what is being paid for, as the sound note of each is a byproduct of performance tuning to have the exhaust pulse discharge the waste for max efficiency and power—it's the concert of tuning from intake to outflow. Stepping in just to produce a wanted sound...cutting out the suitcase, cat-back, straight pipe, etc...can disrupt the original design's intended experience and performance. That's neither good nor bad, it's just a choice. BTW, here is an example that comes damn close to the Mopar sound of my friend's RT. Cheers 👋
That word “moment” jumped out. My dad was wise. Had to be, surviving Omaha Beach to get back and carve out a good life raising 4 raucous, ravenous boys who never gave him a moment’s peace. The lessons he taught still echo, all anchored in the idea of living in the moment without looking back or forward with regret, making your best honest decisions without worry or under the weight of woulda coulda shoulda. Brother, I appreciate your concerns, admire your careful considerations, and think your approach is smart. However, and knowing it’s your money and not mine, I’d suggest you drop the money rock ($1500) to free your actions post the 1790 try. In the grand scheme, I’ll bet the mopar exhaust investment will work out and be worth the smiles for years. If it doesn’t meet your ideal, there will be someone grateful to offer your a fair used price to take their shot. As you know, any investment is personally driven, with few having the added luxury of 100% guarantee. But for sure, if not taken, never known. I say, go after this “exhaust” moment and enjoy 👍 Regards, Don... I do believe the MPE (mopar performance exhaust) might be the best option out there. My only somewhat concern is if it's "too loud” ....I will decide soon as I might first spend $150 and swap out the rear reso's for the vibrant 1790's (which have always yielded a nice "tone", not too deep and not too raspy) but then again that was completely different on the scat set up. this way if it's terrible or not livable, I can just scrap them and put it back to stock or then goto the MPE and call it a day lol... I really hate to spend $1500 on the MPE or any exhaust but that's my internal struggle at the moment.
Well stated and again thank you for taking the time. I think I might just go for it as I think you’re right! That word “moment” jumped out. My dad was wise. Yes a bit old…but a good one. My wife and I agree. I just remote started our T&G as we’re leaving some friends. 34 degrees out, our buddy said, “Someone just started up a lobster boat!” 👋😂I know this is an old post, but damn the TnG sounds good.

/\ this right here.I know this is an old post, but damn the TnG sounds good.
I love the sound of these T&G exhausts for sure.Back in February I asked about the cost of replacing my '21 R/T exhaust with the TnG exhaust. If I'm not mistaken was quoted around $2100 from the dealership. This post has almost pushed me to pull the trigger on it.
From my experience for a year's worth of '21 TnGoing (😉) over that of our old '18 RT (both use K&N panel filter)—what "performance" is gained with less restrictive exhaust, transmission steps w/ electronic diff calibration (modes, Auto, Track, Sport, Snow, Tow), and higher speed limiter is offset by the added carrying weight the SRT undercarriage bits along with run-flat 295/45's. That said, I find the T&G ride is premier with Bilstien active damps and Brembo's that will stop a tank. One question I haven't seen answered yet (or I've overlooked it)... Are there any HP, throttle response or other performance advantages to the TnG exhaust?
Well said. I feel the same way about my TNG ’Rango. I had plans to order a ‘21 Mustang GT, but my better half pointed out that my ’12 ‘Rango (that I bought new) was showing its age and buying a new ‘Stang was probably not the most practical decision. While not a new pony in the stable, the TNG ‘Rango is checking all the boxes for me.From my experience for a year's worth of '21 TnGoing (😉) over that of our old '18 RT (both use K&N panel filter)—what "performance" is gained with less restrictive exhaust, transmission steps w/ electronic diff calibration (modes, Auto, Track, Sport, Snow, Tow), and higher speed limiter is offset by the added carrying weight the SRT undercarriage bits along with run-flat 295/45's. Disclaimer, I didn't buy this rig with an illusion of racing off the line or adding more "performance" but rather to tote the wife and four gkids, tow more than most body-on-frame's, and cruise around comfortably with a sound that reminds me of my youth. Cheers.
63gearhead, What kind of rock guards did you go with? R/T or SRT? My T'nG has the wheel well liners and was told by ZL1 to go with the SRT rock guards. I could not get them to work for the life of me and had to eat the cost of returning.Well said. I feel the same way about my TNG ’Rango. The ZL1 rock guards for SRT worked perfectly for my '21 T&G. However, my installation is a solid adaptation that avoids their clips. Note, I had prior experience installing ZL1's on my prior 2018 RT (ZL1's higher grade plastic option, like SRT version). The SRT ZL1 guards make all the difference minimizing the front and rear 295's suckup and blowback of water, snow, salt etc. all jamming in the lower doors pre-seal and covering lower clad.63gearhead, What kind of rock guards did you go with? And BTW, on the T'nG exhaust system....Perfect low non droning rumble when cruising and light throttle, but OBNOXIOUSLY loud when you drop the hammer. The echo off of buildings is insane. Defiantly a head turner if ya want a little attention. And the "burps". I have never heard an exhaust system so complex. Dodge NAILED IT!
