Likely 165mph… good luck getting there if not on the Daytona speedway 😂. Hits 130 fast but after that it’s a slow climb… you tend to catch up to traffic or something very quick at that point. 145mph was crazy for a few seconds. Did beat a Porsche in the process 😉

Thanks everyone but I'd still like to know if anyone has a document from Dodge that states the factory setting if any.
I hit 140 very quickly but I was running out of space.
With a K&N CAI and 1/2 tank of gas at 39000 miles. In "Track mode" I ran 0-60 in 3.9 secs. I always run 93 octane and empty the cargo bay. Without any after market tuning.
See the dash post attached.
My Ford Expedition / Edelbrock EForce supercharger at 8.5psi would top out at 152mph. The engine felt like it had more go but even a jet engine couldn't beat the wind resistance and it's a big brick to stop.

I bought a Diablo tuner for my '06 Daytona shortly after I got it. I recall that it was originally factory speed limited to like 149mph, which was the limit of the factory speed-rated tires. Before doing any mods, I remember it easily hitting 140 mph with a lot more to go. I raised the limiter to 195 mph, but like many here have said, even though the Daytona is lower, sleeker and lighter than a Durango, it still is basically a brick, especially the earlier ones. Realistically, I could hit between 160-165, but at those speeds, you run out of horsepower, limited by gearing, and pushing a brick through the air.

With my mods, I was in the 405 - 410 HP range, so even though an SRT has more HP and better gearing with 8 speeds, it sits higher, is way heavier, and is a bigger brick, so about equal. Best realistic guess would be a similar top speed in the 160 - 165 mph range, assuming no limiter.

Does anybody know for a fact if the 2018 Durango SRT has a speed limiter and if yes, what is it?
Thank you
Don't you love it when you ask a model specific question and get answers that don't apply? :cautious:

As for top speed limiter, I don't believe there is one. Car and Driver lists the SRT as having a 155mph top speed, drag limited, not factory limited.
Hope that helps.

Correct, a simple direct question deserves a simple direct answer. But to each his own.

I haven't found any official mention of a limiter. Where did you read that it has a limiter?
You’re right, I swear I saw someone post the limiter info but after searching I couldn’t find it. The only thing I can find is the dodge claim of 180. I will see if I can pull mine in with HPT and see what is set in the stock PCM.

How did you get that number?
I'm thinking the 180 is drag limited but neither Car and Driver nor Motor Trend state that.
They both state 155 drag limited for the SRT though.
Both my 392 and Hellcat Durangos are tuned. My stock PCM reads show the files set to 254mph top speed. That means they are not limited by governor but by either drag or gear limitation.

I’ve had both vehicles to very high speed “392- 148mph and Hellcat to 164mph” Both continuing to pull hard. I ran out of space with the 392 and ran out of balls to keep going on the Hellcat. I personally think the Hellcat will do better then 180mph. However I am tuned with about another 50awhp so.

That's pretty awesome. I've had the HC up to 148. Not enough open space to go any higher.
Don't remember how high I got the SRT to.
