Picking up the Durango tomorrow. They want like 4000 for a 8 year 125000 mile warranty. Seems too damn high. What should I pay?! They have one through their dealer that is 10 year 150k for 3400. Also seems high.

Coming from Honda and Toyota this is something I’ll never understand that is taken as “well that’s just part of ownership.” I’ve never extended a warranty on a car nor have I ever used a warranty claim. But again - I am from a different world. I am always surprised at what is just accepted and passed off as “well that’s FCA/mopar!”

Do not buy the mopar warranty from the dealer. Unless you're buying in Florida, in FL you have to.

Wait until after purchase and buy from Robbins or Zeigler

I bought from Zeigler. 7 years/125k miles with $200 deductible AND the Appearance Care Plus AND the Tire & Wheel warranty all for just over $2,700 total cost.

I bought my 8 yr / 100k mile $100.00 deductible Max Care w/ tire and rim coverage for $2,850 (incl tax) from the delivering dealer. I owned my 2012 DDRT for 9 years and the Max Care on that vehicle paid for itself with covered repairs.

I got a quote from Zeigler and was going to use it on my 2021 DDRT and 2021 JGC. On my DDRT I did but the Jeep dealer matched Zeigler's price so I bought it from the dealer.

As long as your dealer will match, it matters not where you buy the plan. I feel that Clay has treated me, and many others well. That's why I put him out there when folks inquire about the MVP plans. The Lifetime MaxCare for my '14 Charger R/T was $2500 with the $100 deductible in Dec. of '16. The price was almost double for the $0 deductible.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, nothing untoward has come to him. It sounds like you did ok anyway.

@thkbaron, I paid $3975 for my 8 year, $100 deductible Maxcare for my 2020 Durango SRT a couple months ago.

Bought it from Clay. Apples to apples comparison that was competitive. Saved considerably over the crappy warranty I bought from the dealer and canceled.

Pretty standard offerings across all manufacturers...though like you I have never bought an extended warranty even though I've put at least 200K miles on every vehicle I've owned. I will say that FCA's lifetime warranty offering was by far the best value I've ever seen on an extended warranty!!!
BTY, having owned a Honda Accord and my family has owned several Toyota's...they are not without fault and while they seem to have less warranty issues. out of warranty they don't hold up long term any better than Dodge from my experience.
