Hey guys… I have noticed this couple of time, it is not always happening when I turn it on, but today I had to record a video to have a proof of the noise. Is this normal or should I worry? Car has only 400 miles on it.

that is probably the 'Hemi tick' and you are probably fine. I say 'probably' because its only one video clip, you know your vehicle better than anyone else.

the 'Hemi tick' is pretty common, is not new and has been around as long as the Dodge/Chrysler Hemi engine has. here is an article on it.

"According to Chrysler/ Dodge, Hemi engines can develop a completely normal, harmless tick. In our experience, this can be true. We have checked out some Hemi engines with ticks in the past and have been unable to find any problems with them. Even better than that, the vehicle owners have not reported any issues developing after checking out the engines and reporting that they are fine."

my 2021 TNG with 2,400 miles does not have a tick. but my 2011 Durango CrewLux with 5.7L had the tick the whole time and I sold it with over 150,000 miles on the odometer.

Awesome!! Good to know it. Yes, I’m the owner but for only 1 month 😂, and this is my first HEMI engine 😁😉

Thank you 🙏🏻

My '17 3.6L has done that since new, reported to the dealership, who claimed it was normal, and now have >45K on the odometer with zero issues.
But it is unsettling for sure, as there are known issues with premature rocker arm bearing wear on the 3.6L 'Pentastar'.

Per page 267 of the OM... see upper right NOTE:

That is a different tick. That manual reference refers to lifter bleed down which is a different issue.
The Hemi tick is constant when warm. But hey, my Hemi jingles every once in a while too!! LOL

Well, my '06 Hemi Daytona has had this slight "tick" ever since new. I've noticed some of the tick noise can also be caused by the injectors, and not necessarily attributed to a lifter noise. I have noticed that upon cold start-up, both with my Hemi, and our 2.4L Jeep, using a synthetic oil like Pennzoil made the engines a LOT noisier on start-up than when I switched to Mobil 1 EP 5W20.

I believe Amsoil Signature 0W20 states it does. Just food for thought... Once upon a time, like in the mid to late 90s, all new Vipers came from the factory with Mobil 1 as factory fill, and was the "recommended" oil. Then, long about the mid to late 2000s, in the dark days of Cerubus to FCA, the whole love affair/marketing agreement between Mopar and Mobil switched to Shell based Pennzoil as only meeting the new FCA MS-6395 "standard". At the time, Mobil had not chosen to get their premium M1 and M1 EP "certified", yet, Mobil Super 5W20 blended oil was recognized. Even some non-synthetic brands met that "standard". Really think some crappy non-synthetic oil is better than Mobil 1 or M1 EP or Amsoil being full synthetics??? Fast forward to today, where both M1 and M1 EP are both recognized in 5W20 & 0W20.

Since my 1st oil change way back in late winter 2006, my Daytona has run almost exclusively M1 or M1 EP 5W20 oil with a Mopar filter, and 125K+ miles of performance driving later, not a single engine issue.

Impressive!
I was asking for Amsoil just because a lot of shelby guys talk so good about this brand. I have been using Motorcraft in mine since first oil change because it's the recommended oil by Ford, and I like to keep it as stock as i can. 😅

But Hemi engine is a new world to me, and I would like to use the best brand in this engine. Im guessing that oil filter is clear which to use, a Mopar one. Doesn't it?

I read that in cold weather many vehicles do this, but especially the Dodges. It is more annoying that anything. I have a 2000 5.9 and been in Colorado since 2019 and it only started after I moved here. I thought it was sticky lifters but very common until engine warms up.

The dealership said it’s normal and that it’s the break in period, I’d keep listening for ur own good cause a new car shouldn’t do that.
But check this link out I was watching this yesterday.
