Good morning,

I was wondering if someone had a handy website or literature that can give me the torque value from the main drive shaft. This is the "newer" entire shaft replacement for my 15 R/T. Dodge has changed the part number to 52123812AB, which is the driveshaft for all years up until 2022. My center bearing has failed and dodge plus a mechanic has stated that its all one unit now.

Looks like it's 41 ft, lbs.

Out of curiosity and the possibility of me doing my own differential swap some day, how did you loosen them? With an impact? Or some other tool company configuration?

I didn't mess with the rear diff at all. I would use a breaker bar personally or a impact. Putting back on, no power tools
I was referring to the hex bolts that connect the drive shaft the the differential. They use the same ones on the front drive shaft too. How did you go about loosening those? I feel like I would break them with an impact. But wasn't sure how else to get enough leverage.

Oh, I loosened thise with a breaker then a ratchet, factory put this nasty green gummy shit on the threads. I tapped each one with a hammer lightly to shock the bolts then loosened them.

I noticed that the front bolts where easier then the rear due to the rear collecting road debris and gunk. Clean up the gunk with brake cleaner and spray with pb blaster which will help a bit.

Ok, nice. I'll keep that in mind when and if the time comes. Thanks.

When I removed mine for a fuel pump job, i noticed the output seal was leaking. At the bottom of the picture, you'll see i used an 8mm allen key with an 8mm socket on an extension to break it loose then, as SINISTERVII mentioned, they loc-tite'd the crap out of them. you'll want to get an 8mm hex key on a ratchet for this.

FYI: when you come to the point that you need to rotate the driveshaft for the other side, go into your center console and pull the cover panel near the hinge, use a key or flat screwdriver to slide over the metal lock near the lever hinge and pull the lever up, it'll lock in a near upright position and your transmission will be in neutral. rotate the driveshaft then actuate the little metal lock to return the lever to park.
