I have a question I have rain sensing wipers on my durango I read all kinds of horror stories about going through car washes with them and to be sure to shut them off before entering a car wash I am afraid one day I will forgot to do that. However I was reading the manual and it says the rain sensing function wont work when the car is in neutral which would fix my fear because the car wash makes you put it in neutral before entering. My question is did they do that just for car washes and has anyone tested the theory?
Thanks for any input

I have the rain sensing wipers & always have that feature on.
They do not come on when in nuetral going through the car wash.
But they do come on after your parked & wiping down the windshield..,lol.
Ya they do! It pisses me off everytime I go to dry my windshield. I always turn them off and my wife turns them back on...🤬

Is that feature meant to be left on all the time? I thought you just put it in delay when it starts to rain/mist and the system will then sense the amount of rain and increase wiper speed as needed.
Did not know it was meant to be left on 24/7. My wife's Mazda CX9 had auto on wipers as well as rain sensing when in delay mode.

Thank you so it should be safe to go through a car wash then
You do know that if you turn the wipers to off on the stalk, it will be off, right? You don’t have to go into the uconnect screen every time.

Yes. It’s meant to be on all of the time.
The wipers with automatically turn on when you’re driving when it senses rain & change speed automatically when it senses harder or lighter rainfail.
It then then automatically turns off after it doesn’t sense anymore rainfall.
It works great imo.
Just note to turn it off if in park & you’re going to dry or clean your windshield with the vechicle running.
