It's that time again? my front and rear diff service, tranny service and band adjustments time.

Last time I took all the stuff to the tranny shop and had the service done. I plan on the same thing, however last time I didn't get any of the excess fluids back. This go around, I'm only taking what they need and nothing extra.

I'll be taking a stocker tranny filter, ATF+4 and Mobil1 75w90 diff oil.

Capacity on a pan drop transmission service for the ATF+4?
Front diff capacity?
Rear diff capacity?

Thanks in advance!

IndyD how come you just don't do it yourself it's a lot cheaper. I'll round up my Haynes manual and check on the capacities for you!

Unless you have a fill and drain hole it's a real mess to drain and fill - especially the front diff. for which no cover is available.

Both my front and rear diff. has a hole with a rubber plug in it that you can use to drain and fill if you want. I removed the cover on both the front and rear all by myself and it was the first time I've ever changed my own diff. fluid so if I can do it I bet everyone can.

Sorry Indy I just went and checked for my Haynes manual and I can't find the damn thing. Check in your owners manual under fluid capacites, it should list the correct amount.

The differential capacities are in the owners manual

"The 8 1/4 axle lubricant capacity is 2.22 L (4.7 pts.) total, including the friction modifier, if necessary. The 9 1/4 axle lubricant capacity is 2.32 L (4.9 pts.) total, including friction modifier, if necessary."

"TRANSMISSION FILL PROCEDURE

To avoid overfilling transmission after a fluid change or overhaul, perform the following procedure:

(1) Remove dipstick and insert clean funnel in transmission fill tube.
(2) Add following initial quantity of Mopart ATF Plus 4 to transmission:
(a) If only fluid and filter were changed, add 10 pints (5 quarts) of ATF Plus 4 to transmission.
(b) If transmission was completely overhauled, torque converter was replaced or drained, and cooler was flushed, add 24 pints (12 quarts) of ATF Plus 4 to transmission."

This is per my 2000 FSM, so as stated above, check your owner's manual. :)
