Did you know rear lift gate had a lock button ?

Did not know. I am the one who skims through the owners manual of every car. Even though the Durango is my wife's and then deride her for the next decade saying "Did you read the owner's manual?".

I didn't realize it at first, but did find it - it is very handy!

Somewhere on this forum, there used to be a thread about "things I didn't know about my Durango" but I haven't seen it in a while.
It would be nice to find this and Pin it ... It would be a good read

I was sure that the liftgate was opening with the handle while all doors locked because we had the foab on us, and would lock automaticly. So if I open the liftgate with the handle button and close it, someone without a keyfoab would be able to open it right after me because I did not press the lock right handle button?

I always skim through owners manuals of my vehicles and literally knew the very next day after driving her home.

That’s my impression, but never did any tests. Maybe I will.

I tested it...locked the car with the key fob, then opened the liftgate. It opened as expected, and when I closed it, I didn't hit the button on the handle, or the fob. I put the fob in the house, and tried the liftgate, and it opened - it was not locked. I tried the doors, just to ensure the fob wasn't too close, but they remained locked. So if you open the liftgate after locking the doors, you need to either hit the button on the handle or on the fob.

So I walked out to the Durango and felt around and just felt one large bar button and at first I thought let me go back to the thread and see what year this was for. Then a little more finger probing and to my surprise there is a little round button all the way to the right. We always unload our snowboarding gear and I make sure my key is zipped in a pocket then I usually walk to the front and push the door button to lock it now I can do it from here great info!!!!
