I have replaced the standard paddle shifters on my 2017 Chrysler 300 and my old 2018 Durango RT with the SRT versions. I do not see why they shouldn't work on a 21 Rt....
 
They are not too difficult. The hardest part is removing the airbag, as the wiring connects underneath it, and I believe there are 2 screws on the back of each one to remove
 
What is the difference between the standard and SRT paddle shifters??
 
They appear to have a longer reach. The stock ones have me turning my wrist in or just pushing at them with fingertips. It doesn’t feel natural or pleasant with what I’m used to.
Must have tiny little petite hands.

Are you trying to reach the paddles THROUGH the steering wheel? Just keep your hands at 10 and 2 and you can reach the paddles with your fingers unless you are T-Rex with "tiny hands."

That sure sounds like what he’s trying to do. I have no idea how anyone would think to do something like that…

Yes that would be funny, but no. The paddle shifter placement and the backup camera resolution were the only two things I didn’t like about the Durango when we test drove it, and both are minor gripes. I could get used to them if I didn’t have paddle shifters on the other family car that feel more natural.

My theory is that the SRT shifters are going to be longer for a reason and its not because the target HellCat driver profile has dainty fingers. I think that the the shorter stock shifters are a good compromise for all drivers. They are there if you want them but out of the way if you don’t.

Paddle shift extenders are a lot cheaper & less work then replacing the entire assembly.
Thanks - and these are a good option and are what the dealer recommended too, but I found the HellCat shifters for just $50 each and they appear to go a little further out (length instead of height) than the extenders.

They are longer, and it’s pretty nice. You can flick them easily at 10&2 with your pinky fingers.

I have them on my 2014 - straight plug and play. I also swapped to an SRT steering wheel, but that doesn’t affect the paddle mounting at all. I love the SRT wheel because it’s substantially thicker than stock.

That's interesting because I find the heated RT wheel to be too thick already. Is yours even thicker than that?

Yes, the SRT wheel is much thicker than the standard leather wheel. At least it was for 2014-2017. I’m not sure if the R/T got the SRT wheel at some point.

I see that now, I was hoping to not have to remove the airbag, but I can do that. Thanks.
If you don't want to disconnect the battery and remove the airbag, you can attempt to just swap the paddle itself by removing these 2 little screws behind the cover:

Also, before you do this, check the button feel, it may make you want to swap the entire housing. In my experience, my 14 durango, the buttons were more of a click type button (like a computer mouse) but the Jeep SRT wheel i swapped to, the buttons were more like a cushioned button (like a laptop keyboard press)
