I got my first Gen 1 in 2009 and fell in love! I just picked up my 3rd, a loaded 2002 SLT, 4wd, 4.7, (I’ve had the 5.9 which I really liked but the 4.7 has been great) black leather interior, Infiniti system etc. Only needed a water pump and a rear window regulator. Older couple kept it in the garage, looks and drives like new with only 67k miles! I did a quick 2” lift, painted the grille shell black and upgraded the headlights and tires. Just wanted to show off my new baby and would love to hear about and see pics of your babies!

Are you sure you didn't put a 5" lift on it? That is certainly more than 2".

Welcome to DDN. Great find on that '02 with 67k. I am jealous!!!! I still miss my Dark Garnet '01 SLT Plus at times.
Hopefully you live somewhere without the snow and ice crap we have here in SW Ohio. It's rare to see a Gen 1 or 2 around here without some level of rust. Sadly, my current '04 is no exception.

Thanks Don. Yes it was a great find but believe me I looked. I’m in SoCal and I searched the south west states for weeks, willing to fly out and drive back if I found the right one. Luckily I found this one only a couple of hours away. Sorry about the rust on your 04, the upper Midwest and east areas are hard on vehicles.

As an owner of a '17DD, I have to admit, I like the gen-1's better myself. They are a REAL SUV as opposed to today's SuV. You can mount brush grills on them, pull stuck vehicles out from the front, and even mount a winch up there. Although I've seen one of the latest gen on here with a brush grill somehow mounted, I don't think it was more than ornamental.
