Help, I have a 2000 durango R/T and I'm trying to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets and bolts. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to get this bolt out? I only have basic hand tools.
First, remove the manifold completely. If there is enough bolt sticking out, try to clamp down on it with vice grips, not pliers, and try to unscrew it. Use some penetrating oil first and let it soak in. If that don’t work, There’s some bolt extractors called ease outs that you can buy and try. You will have to drill a small hole in the bolt and insert the ease out, then turn it. Use penetrating oil with this too.Help, I have a 2000 durango R/T and I'm trying to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets and bolts. He said he only has basic hand tools. He may get a torch, but a welder… come on maaan! Why would you recommend that he breaks the bolt off if it’s still sticking out?i would suggest going out and getting a propane torch or a yellow tank...just a small one...your gonna need to get that red hot...then shock it with water..then bring it back to red hot and then try to crack it...most likely you will snap it...at that point you will need to extract it...east out's may work..unless you can get a welder, weld a nut onto the end of the stud and then try and extract it
Sounds like sabotage to me. Or you don’t have a clue.cause shit happens...you can go and rent tools if needed to as well...i only said if if he can get one too
