I was digging through the manual to see what the recommended maintenance schedule is and am a little disappointed that there is nothing specifically called out for the Durango Hellcat.

I know with my Challenger, it had separate information for the 3.6/5.7 vs the 6.4/6.2. It specifically listed the oil requirement of being changed every 6 months or 6K miles, whichever is first for the 6.4/6.2 engines among a few other things.

Has anyone seen/heard different? I reached out to Dodge Cares via chat and they said to just follow the manual which states every 10k miles or when the indicator on the Oil Lifespan is low.

That all doesn’t sound correct to me when compared to the Challenger/Charger. I haven’t looked at the Trackhawk to see if it’s any different.

Posted up in another thread but I plan on keeping a log with the oil changes. I'll probably change again at 3k miles and see what the lab results say.

I plan on the 500 mi change, did that with my Challenger. Planning on also doing the 6 month or 6K mi changes as well since it just doesn’t make sense that suddenly they have a different maintenance schedule for the same engine compared to other vehicles.

Just wanted to get everyone else’s thought on this.

PN:
It certainly won't hurt anything to do the earlier service. What it will do for sure though, is lighten your wallet. The owner's manual is the bible for required servicing. For some reason, the 6.4L cars are spec'ed with the 6mo/6k oil service, whereas the 5.7l cars are spec'ed at no less than once a year, or whenever the OLM indicates. I only put 5kish miles a year on my '14 R/T, so it gets an annual oil service at the dealer. While in warranty, one would want to follow the OM guidelines, but after warranty, you can do what suits you.

I have always gotten my 1st oil change at 1k miles (or so) and that included my SRT10, SRT8 and every other 5.7 and 3.6l vehicles I have owned since new.
One time I got a free oil change from the dealer back in the 90s because my brand new Dodge Spirit V6 had sparkly metal flakes I could see inside the oil cap.
I put a 1/2 quart of trans fluid into the oil, drove it for 50 miles then had the dealer change the oil. This was all under 150 miles on the odometer. That V6 (Mitsubishi) ran perfect for 140k then the timing belt broke. Repaired it, ran great for another couple of years until I sold it.

Are you looking in the general users guide or the performance supplement?

It clearly mentions a few 6.2 things

That's an interesting find. The physical manual states nothing about the 6.2 and the link on Mopar's site for the Owners Manual doesn't as well. This is the owners manual Mopar's site provides which is an exact copy of my physical manual https://msmownerassets.z13.web.core...ssets/publications/en-us/Dodge/2021/Durango/P124131_21_WD_OM_EN_USC_DIGITAL.pdf

When you are logged into Mopar's site, click the Owners Manual link then you will see the "supplements and more" link under download manual button.
You will then see a drop down and you can choose the Perfomance features Guide and download it.

That's silly, really should be part of the owners manual as part of the maintenance schedule.

Even better, should have received a physical copy of this as there is no way to know about it unless you find that specific PDF.

I get it but these manuals are made up way in advance and that is why there are supplements. Be happy your DDHC is a 1 year product which makes it even more special.
Everything is moving online but you would think Dodge would put a card with a QR code in the vehicle to direct you to Mopar.com for latest updates.
