Well been a while that my check engine light has been on for the well known solenoid problem in the engine on the Hemi engines. In my state if you have a check engine light on you can't get an inspection sticker and mine is almost due. So I called and called from little places to dealerships and no one wanted to do the work. Finally I found a place called Dormans Auto center and the guy said bring it down and I will look at it. That said I took it to him and told him to check it like he was going to inspect it for a sticker and wow he did. He found a couple small leaks, I need a new muffler and pipe, front brakes, a rear windshield arm and wiper, and a few other small things. He also found that one of the solenoid's was not working. So I told him to replace all of them and do an oil change and fix everything else and put a sticker on it. Here is the part I had to sit down for, he called and told me all the stuff that was needed and it was going to cost between $2300 and $2500 to fix it all and put a sticker on my truck. Now I know it is a 2006 but it has every option that was offered for that year and they all work and the interior is mint also so I weighed it all out a new car payment, insurance and so on and decided to have him do it. So by Tuesday I should have a like new truck at least mechanically! Now I do have like 5 rust spots or rot spots is more like it so this place also does body work so gonna ask how much to fix that too and I will have a like new truck. I love my truck rides like a Cadillac and has balls to spare. A very comfortable truck to drive. Well that's it just wanted anyone with the same problem what to expect unless you do the work your self. If I were 40 again I would of taken it on but I am 70 and to me that was the best way out. Can't wait to try it out.
