Hi, I recently purchased a 2012 Citadel V8 AWD to be my DD and kid/critter hauler. Despite having 160k miles the interior is mostly in really good shape and everything except the front heated seats and the radio work. That is where I need some help. I did some searching and have already replaced the control module. I can hear the relay clicking on and the lights on the button stay lit but I never get any heat in either of the front seats. The heated steering wheel works so, I don't think it's a fuse. Also the rear heated seats and the ventilated fronts work. I pulled the seatbacks off and didn't see anything obviously wrong. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Also the FM/AM doesn't pick up a single station. Everything else Nav, bluetooth, CD, HDD, DVD all work fine. I don't remember what but I think at some point I saw something that said the two issues might be related 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thanks for any info you guys might have and the help with other little issues I've already found solutions to on here 😁

Fuse M8 (20 amp yellow) in the TIPM is for Front Heated Seats and Steering Wheel. Seeing as how you have heat for the steering wheel it's not a fuse.

What's your charging voltage showing? Here's some infor from the FSM:

Vehicles equipped with the heated seat option utilize a low voltage cut-off feature. This feature turns off power to the heated seat system anytime vehicle voltage is below 11.7 volts or above 15.5 volts. Be certain to check the vehicle electrical system for proper voltage anytime the heated seat system appears inoperative.

Voltage measured via OBD is a steady 12.6 with just the ignition on and 14.4 at idle. Pretty normal there as far as I know. I haven't gotten a chance to climb under the seat and check the harness. I will update when I do.

I climbed under the driver's seat today and the red power wire gives me 14.2 with the engine running. I wasn't able to check the circuit for the seat heaters because I can't find a list telling me which wire runs it and with the harnass disconnected the heated seat shuts off after a few seconds.

the good news is you’ve gotten some answers so far! I wonder if there is a short in the element itself.

I was under the impression that a short in the elements would cause them to switch back off immediately. Also the fact that it's both front seats makes me think it's something not specific to an individual element or seat. Although, they both could be shorted/broken. I started pulling the driverside seat cover off some today but I didn't see much. It looks like the elements are in a mesh pouch (the seats are ventilated as well) and the wiring for it is not obvious from the back of the seat. There is quite a bit of wiring in there but it's all wrapped and I don't want to start unwrapping it and short anything out...

Do you have any more suggestions or info from the FSM? Seems like these seats are way more complicated that a resistive element and a timer switch...
