A question Denis,

Just being curious: What shape is the under / inner sections of the rear liftgate?

At the first signs of a rust bubble on the base of the rear liftgate window and then upon my D being inspected by dealership's parts/service manager, the under lip seam of the liftgate had rust just about to break loose thru the paint finish. He just ordered a whole new liftgate to be painted CPR. Wonder if inner side would need cleaning/painting to seal the metal up from future moisture that'll cause the rust to re-appear. Looks nice :!: And good luck :!:

And yes, my brother's '04 liftgate is slated for replacement soon. DC had updated/changed its requirements/policies for outter body rust thru. The dealership had to submit odometer reading images and liftgate images of the rusting via secure internet connect to a DC rep. Brother said this rep had been out due to a maternity leave. And that the work should to scheduled to happen soon.

Hello Steve,

To the interior I isn't any rust it's really very well, to the exterior one when I have to sand my hatch I put the party to nude. After cutting the piece of sheet metal touched by rust I have to solder to the MIG a new piece of sheet metal. After I have to treat the interior with a special product for hollow body. As that the work is well done. I hope to have replied to the question :?
