We were told by a Dodge dealership that we needed to replace the Rear Temp Door Actuator in our 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel. Can anyone tell me where this is located in the SUV and where to look for instructions on how to replace this. We had the front A/C Actuator replaced back in April at a tune of $400 and now they want another $400 for the rear temp actuator.
Does what the dealership is charging sound reasonable? Should we look for a auto repair shop other than a dealership?
TIA,

Hi from Germany,
there are 2 actuators in the "back" compartment, you will find both of them unter the right trunk-side-cover (if you stand behind the car) - would need to replace mine too, One is located near the trunk-door, the other one can be found in the area of the right back passenger door. At all I am tooo lazy for this action yet..:) seems to be a lot of work...But I am surprised about the costs you took for this - the actuators are about 10$ each. I replaced the front actuator (passenger side) within 15 Minutes, took 10$ for the actuator and another 10$ for the gear connected to this part, both provided by Amazon. Back-side seems to be more nasty, you won´t need a gear, but it seems to be hard to remove the cover without damaging anything else. 'And, sometimes, if things are worse, the actuator door is broken - thats really expensive...tooo expensive....there are a lot of tutorial within Youtube - recommand you will have a look on this before starting...

few people asked me about the rear hvac stuff. I am putting a video together shortly for this. I replaced the blower motor resistor on my citadel and its right next to the blend door actuators. If you are handy and not too afraid to work on cars its not that difficult. Also if you have access to a full system scanner that would surely tell you its the rear blend door actuator. the whole light passenger side rear (3rd row) trim has to come off for the replacement. parts should not cost you that much ether.
