Has anyone removed the fog light housings? I want to swap them with the OEM LED lights, but can’t figure out how to remove the old projectors. I’d really like to be able to leave the bumper on.
That’s what I’m doing. Is there a trick to getting the housings out?Just to be clear, I removed the whole halogen housing and replaced with JGC LED ones. They are awesome btw, with excellent light output.
I’m replacing the whole housing, not just the bulbs.Yes, you just crawl under the front bumper on your back and stick in your head and arms, and they are fairly easily accessible. It’s not the easiest since it’s such a tight & awkward position but it’s definitely do-able. I’d suggest wearing glasses since some dust etc will probably fall in your face when switching out the bulbs.
Also, you’re not removing the projectors themselves or the housings, you can just swap the halogen bulbs with LEDs. Check out VLEDs.com if you’re looking for some quality bulbs. I got 6000K to match my headlights and DRL’s.

Not really, they are held in with 3 tabs...so you really need 2 flat head screwdrivers or similar tool to release the tabs. That’s what I’m doing. Is there a trick to getting the housings out?
Do you remember which way the tabs need to release? Pry them towards the ground or towards the headlights? The tab up top is the key to getting them out...I released one of the bottom tabs and then the top...then it will come out easy after that.

Why are you guys replacing the housings? My LEDs are just fine in the stock projectors.I’m replacing the whole housing, not just the bulbs.
I want to say to the outside....should be clear looking at them once you get under there.Do you remember which way the tabs need to release? Pry them towards the ground or towards the headlights?
I’ve got a set of Morimotos to swap in and need to reuse the housing bracket.
My housing lens were all beat up from road rash so they really needed to be changed out.Why are you guys replacing the housings? My LEDs are just fine in the stock projectors.
I’m confused, how would JGC fog lights projectors fit on a Durango? My housing lens were all beat up from road rash so they really needed to be changed out.
The JGC ones are better looking..have fantastic light output and the lens are crystal clear. My old ones looked yellow in comparison.
Oh I see. How did you know those would fit?Largely the same reasons I’m swapping. The stock projectors are super pitted and rough. I actually ended up getting a set of Morimoto XB Fogs to swap instead of the OE GC ones.
The Durango and JGC are pretty similar. Lots of stuff works for both, including the fog lights. It’s literally plug and play. I knew the morimoto ones would fit, because they fit the JGC housing brackets, which are the same as the Durango ones.I’m confused, how would JGC fog lights projectors fit on a Durango?

'14-'15 year JGC had round LED fog lamps...Charger also used the same LED fogs on certain trims...and they plug right into the brackets on the Durango's that had round fog lamps. I bought mine off E-bay.I’m confused, how would JGC fog lights projectors fit on a Durango?

Thanks buddy. I’ve got to do an oil change anyway, so I’ll pull back the liners and have a look.'14-'15 year JGC had round LED fog lamps...Charger also used the same LED fogs on certain trims...and they plug right into the brackets on the Durango's that had round fog lamps. I bought mine off E-bay.
Looks like I had the tab orientation wrong...there is 1 on the bottom, 2 on top...so think triangle.
I'm at a vacation home currently to get out from city and CV-19 so don't have ramps to look at them currently.
As I said, once you get your head up into that area, you'll clearly see the tabs and how to release them.
Might help to have someone push from outside on them towards you as you release the tabs with your screwdriver or pry type tool.
