Hey guys...my wife has a 2018 Durango and in the last two weeks the battery light and the auto start stop light has come on for a few minutes while driving. The first time the power steering locked up and a warning came on the display on it for a brief few seconds. Gonna make a service appointment but wondering if it is happening to anyone else. The power steering issue looks to be happening in the rams as it’s well noted on the forum.

Welcome to the forum. I would get it to the dealership. The symptoms sound like a harness short near the front suspension. '18 should be under full warranty, so at least you have that to fall back on.

On our '18 Pacifica, the stop start used a different battery and there were a decent amount of forum threads about that battery being a problem. Not sure if that system is similar on the D. But yeah, dealer.

My 17 auto start/stop wire goes straight to the battery under the passenger seat...It's disconnected now so I dont have to hit that stupid button to deactivate the feature anymore.

The start-stop system and related HD equipment was added starting in 2016 with the 3.6L V6 Durango models.

The start-stop battery is located next to the regular battery - as shown here;

Thank you EPA for this extra stuff we don't need in these cars . What are you gaining when you have to have other companies using up more earth materials and having to worry about recycling another battery . The AGM's are $2-300 , what are these going to cost to replace ? Also more weight added to the car so what are you really gaining unless you live in LA and you sit in stop and go every day ?

Wouldn't know...i disconnected just the two wire connector from the battery a week or so ago.
There is the yellow trouble signal in the dash...
