Nope. The only fix is your finger pressing the button after startup. Make it a habit and the fix will mean less to you if they ever release one which I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, if you have the tow package (if you install the tow bar and etc) once they turn on the trailer hitch wire the ECO button stays where it was last when you turned your car off. I have a 2014 RT and I have it off all the time now.

When I was at the Dodge dealer for a repair of the keyless go and I got my Durango back, the ECO mode was switched off every time I started it. Before, my last setting was always saved. I always like to drive in ECO mode. But since I still had to go to a recall to another Dodge dealer, I asked him if he could set me again that the ECO Mode would stay as I had switched it on the next time I started it. that is, the Durango remembers what mode it was in before. He said that he couldn't, but when I got the Durango back, everything was fine and the ECO mode remains as I set it on the next trip. I think that you can set it on the computer, only the dealers don't know it all. I don't have a tow package in my Durango.

How do they turn on the trailer hitch wire? Is that something I can do myself?

Why wouldn't you want the Eco Mode always on when you start the engine? I drive in Eco-Mode 95% of the time, so I am happy it is the default mode. The other 5% of the time I am towing. Since I am towing, I know to turn the Eco-Mode off.

I only use the eco mode when I'm on a highway trip with light traffic. Two things bother me about eco mode. First is shift points. When you need power immediately like getting out of the way of something or someone, there is a delay in dropping a gear that's not there when eco is off. The other is the vibration when in eco. It's annoying.

Because on the v6 it doesn't give you any significant fuel saving, and it has a very detrimental effect on all accelerations save for flooring it.

A V6 in Eco mode goes from 6 cylinder to 3?

When you say you have the "factory tow package" you have the hitch and everything already installed? I didn't (I installed it) and I had to go to the dealer to have the trailer hitch wire "turned on" so it would work. Once they did that, the ECO button defaults to whatever it was when you turn the car off.

It depends on if you have all the towing stuff. You have to plug in the trailer hitch wire into the assembly if that makese sense.
Thanks - yes I have a factory tow package (not installed at dealer or by me). There is also a 4-pin and 7-pin connector already there. Are you saying I just need to plug a trailer wire into one of those connectors?

Would like to know more about this. Even though my car came with everything already connected and setup... Maybe I can purposely disconnect it and then reconnect, so my ECO will be fixed just like yours...
