Update: I called Dodge customer service and explained the situation. They opened a case, and had a case manager call me today. The dealership said that the pop noise when I brake is the calipers hit brake pad, when coming to a stop. She said they can’t do anything about that. I don’t run over curbs or potholes? So if they charge me to replace or am I dealing with this for as long as I have this truck? Any thoughts, advice?
She also said they can’t replicate engine rattle noise, she going call me back Monday.

Update: I have an open case with Dodge. My case manager is very unhelpful. The loud pop noise when coming to a stop turned out to be a brake caliper, that contacts brake pads. Dealer and case manager responded by they ain’t going to repair because that how the parts are and they are not broken. She is trying to get in touch with them this week regarding engine rattle but I found out from Carfax that from miles 865 the truck was checked for engine engine /computer module, not once but three times. It was checked again for miles 1,008 and 1,916? Why would the engine /computer module be checked when engine is new? Also, if I took the truck to original dealer where they checked the module, they didn’t bother to check it again, knowing this truck has a history with it?

If anyone cares the 4th dealer did replace rocker arms/lifters, camshaft and the engine still rattles. The pop noise is getting worse, today I had to get off highway to inspect brakes after hearing a squeaking noise. I pulled into a college parking lot empty, after putting truck in park the truck pulled back and tire/brake area squealed as metal hitting metal.

Sorry to hear you are still frustrated, and dealing with this. How many miles are you up to now on it?
It's crazy that you have been though 4 dealers, and no resolution. I think they need to buy it back, tear it apart, and find out what the heck is going on.

I see that the dealer mentions in the repair order that they no longer hear the noise. From their description of the removed parts/pieces, there was rust and pitting which seems strange when rocker arms, lifters (or tappets) and cams are typically in a constant oil bath when the engine is running. Will this 5th visit be the same dealer, or yet another?

I think I would try to stay with the one who did the big repair, as they seem to be helping you. I know that bill would have been every bit of $2K plus if not for the warranty.

I bought the truck at Bluebonnet Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in New Braunfels, Texas. That was the first dealer I ever took this truck with engine rattle noise they had it a week and they did nothing to it, I can recall it’s been rattling since 8k mile but didn’t really think much of it. Here is first dealer repair at original dealer, they just sold me truck and refuse to do anything about it. It says 12k miles because at 8k mile it thought engine rattle was normal. I’m keep taking truck to the last dealer as they seem to be trying a little, however original dealer keeps ignoring this issue. Thanks Don, if anyone else can help me out I would appreciate it.

The dealership called me today and explained that the pop noise/metal grinding was the “hub” by tire brake area. Note: I don’t run over potholes or hit any curbs at all. They replaced the part under warranty however, engine rattling still sounds. I’m not a mechanic by any means, but I’m wondering if this truck is worth keeping? This was my favorite truck, had it for 9 months and it’s been in shop 5 times already. I’m trying to justify keeping it but I don’t want to put my families safety on the line, which I won’t! Does anyone here have problem free Durango GT, for 2018-2019? If I have to sell it, I will probably go with Chevy or GMC. Hoping someone can really chim in on thoughts? I have not picked up truck as they closed and will pick it up tomorrow, so I don’t know if they even fixed anything or not.

So after 5 dealer visits and 22K miles the engine rattle and brake/tire area pop noise still going on. The pop sound was per dealer the HUB wheel bearing that they “replaced” but the pop is still there. I think Dodge is just punking me at this point. They know this truck has mechanical issues and HUB/wheel bearing issues yet they don’t seem to understand this can cause safety issues for me the owner of this truck. Hope this thread is helping someone at least other then myself. I still love this truck but, I don’t think this issue will be solved until engine blows up on me. Thanks Chrysler/Dodge

While you are experiencing quite a frustrating period with your D, I don't believe anything you have so far would rise to the level of putting you or your family at risk. If you like it, drive it, and hopefully if/when the issues progress, they will have no choice but to repair it under warranty. Sadly, I think that many dealer "techs" these days can't think for themselves. If the test gear won't point them to a particular place, and they can't draw from their experience, they are stumped.

Just small update, no big deal it seems engine rattle has stopped🤔. I don’t want to jink it either, I don’t really hear brake pop noise either. Overall just happy and learning to complain less in life. Here she is newly washed with Meguiars gold class and Meguiars hybrid ceramic liquid wax. Don’t stare too long she’s taken.

Thanks I try to keep her clean, especially with rising car prices. God first, is she keeps performing good I will keep her a while. The only downside scratches and rock chips show off more with this color. I’m getting a small 3” polisher from amazon, I want to wet sand and, color fill and polish the rock chips. I don’t know how but I will learn.
