I have to wonder if the sunroof water intrusion issues you mentioned a while ago may have damaged the WCM. Seems that was an ugly issue you were dealing with.

I don't like to advise folks to replace parts if it isn't known that the part is definitely the issue. It sounds like what I read on the web suggests that the WCM may be faulty, but with your water intrusion there are a lot of possible gremlins in the mix. If I was asked specifically what I would do, it would be spend about $75 on a dealer visit for a proper diagnosis after you check harness and connectors for obvious damage.
