In Feb I bought a 2005 durango with the 5.7 hemi. I'm throwing the p0300 code with the p0032 and p0038. I have no issue in park with it running but as soon as it's in reverse or drive it runs rough, shaking the vehicle kinda moderately.
The p0032 and p0038 codes are high voltage warnings for the #1 O2 sensor on bank 1 and high voltage warning for O2 sensor #2 on the same bank. My research has shown the high voltage is for the ceramic heaters on the sensors. Could this be why I'm getting the p0300 code? I've recently changed the map sensor as there was a code for low barimetric pressure in the intake. I'm at the point where I want to change the wires,O2 sensors and egr (not in that order) every part I've changed on this lane duck has been original parts marked either mopar or denso. Am I on the right track with the O2 sensors?

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Faulty spark plugs or wires
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s)
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked/leaking EGR valve / passages
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Defective computer
Of these, more common issues seem to be the camshaft position sensor or possibly the EGR valve unless you just need a good tune up. If you decide to shotgun the repair, I would probably start with the CPS.

Of course, these babies are quite sensitive to voltage, and a weak or dying battery could also explain your symptoms, because they do tend to act in strange ways when the battery is the culprit. How old is the battery, and have you had it checked out to verify its' operating condition?

I've changed the crank position sensor, 16 spark plugs, 2 coils(had a miss on cyl 5 but changed wrong coil at first)map sensor.
From here I'll have the battery tested and possibly change the bank 1 O2 sensors. I'm trying to figure this out so I dont have long term issues in the future. It may take a while for the O2 sensors because of a fixed income.
I'll remain updated on the battery, around june my 6 disc changer decided it wanted to go on strike... permanently and drained my battery dead. I hope that's the main issue, it's a denso battery and possibly original

Any Codes? If so...what are they?

Same codes as above. Ok so here is the break down. I'm thinking it's probably pcm. But a year ago truck was sputtering barely running and died a few times replace crank sensor still did it swap the passenger after cat sensor had a code for it and still ran like crap and had the code long story short I had 1 wire completely broke and another half way worn threw on the harness above the transmission. Fixed the wires has been great sence. So now I think it's the same thing I put simulators on the 02 about 3 months ago truck has been fine started hearing like a vibrating sound figured it was loose heat shield and just ignored it(only did it sometimes) well truck started running like crap barely got it home after inspection it was the o2 hitting the bottom of the heat shield and wore threw the wires so I pulled codes and I have same as above iv unplugged bolth sensor on driver side to see if the code would change and it's the same even with them unplugged so it leads me to believe it shorted the wire some ware in line or killed the pcm. But if it was the pcm I would think it wouldn't run at all. I'm more than a shad tree mechanic but this has me stumped. So tomorrow I will pull cross member and drop trans down to inspect wires any other recommendations

Rango:
Before you go to all that work, how old is the battery, and how many miles on the plugs? You also should try a battery reset, and see if it will improve how it runs, even for a short while.

O I know plugs are crap got a set of ngk v power on their way. But went ahead and checked the wires and guess what. That's it first time it was my psanger side this time the drivers side right on top of the trans where they split from left to right its worn threw just on the other side of ware I fixed it last time. But i mite have to yank the trans to get enuff slack to properly fix it. But I'm thinking about doing it any way take all the broke wire loom off inspect everything wrap it all in tape and instead of loom use some fuel line or heater hose or something so I won't ever have to mess with it again. Hope this help someone else their is no info on this subject
