I have an 05 Durango with 5.7 in it. I put gas in it then it would try to start but wouldn’t. I shook the truck then it started just fine. Then started just fine ever other time till was going down road then died on me then would try to start but wouldn’t stay running.

OS:
How many miles on the D, and what kind of shape is the battery in? You may have a fuel pump on the way out, or a failing battery. Have the battery load tested to rule it out.If it comes back less than 100%, replace it. How long have you owned it, and what history as in tune ups, etc do you know?

Dittoes Don Fox, if you're sure it's a fuel issue (or you have water in the fuel tank). They DO act funky with a battery that isn't 100%.
I would check for codes first.
If no codes, I'd pull the fuel line to the injector rail, put it in a container, switch ignition to "run" for about ten seconds, and inspect the container for water in the bottom of the gas. If no gas, or very little, yeah --- Fuel pump, or pick-up filter.
