HaHa xy here....:p......btw the demonic red leather and the octane red are different shades, as is the brake calipers...so a triple red srt would be a red barf so to speak...

without fun just cruising 13.2 lt / 100km / 17.8mpg

with fun 14.7mpg
Sounds good there, Sox. If these SRTs didn't have that 3.70 axle, it would be better, but not as snappy. Of course, a bigger overdrive would be helpful too. Thanks for the input from "over by there" as we say in Chicago.

I drive around town and I don't know what somenpf you are doing I get about 10 maybe 11 mpg you want mpg get a prius!!
Now now..now..some of us are senior citizens can't mash the gas like we used to...........you young hot rodders with your hair on fire....you bought the SRT for one thing, we, as in the others bought it for our reasons...............I like looking good and sounding good as I cruise by the senior center looking for a hottie without vericose veins and asking her and her girlfriends out for some ice cream.............they travel in herds when they get older....like 5 or so. We are never in a hurry, we have all day to get to where we want to go and look good doing it..............

Don't upset us seniors or we will all get in the passing lane and drive 10 miles per hour UNDER the posted limit and have our right turn signal on for miles and miles as we go and we will NOT look in our mirrors.............we already know what you are flashing with your hand signs..................

Kids nowadays..................I was once one .................I think

Hey now....it's good info to share, for many reasons. First of all, it can let owners know if THEIR SRT is out of whack with others.....might indicate a technical problem. Also, while I can relate to your "get a prius" sentiment....for some potential owners it's a real stretch to get a car like an SRT and it is helpful to know if they can expect 12 mpg or 18 mpg. If they will only have one car and they drive alot, fuel consumption might be the deciding factor in whether they can afford it.

Is it smart or wise to get such a car if money is that tight? No, not at all. But c'mon....it's not smart to get such a car at all. It's an indulgence that people who work hard are entitled to enjoy if they so choose, however they choose.

I purchased my SRT to have a bit of fun. One of the ways that can be measured is in terms of gas milesage. The lower the gas mileage the more fun. Seriously, if gas mileage is a concern, shouldn 't one consider a smaller engine. There is an old adage about having your cake and eating it too.

At 5500 pounds, the Durango is quite heavy. The hemi will burn a lot of fuel under heavy acceleration moving that much weight.

AZ, I think my wife is almost as fast as your's but I don't think it always works out the way we thought it would. ;)

Gas mileage isn't a concern. As for pushing my SRT to its limit, there are very few places where I can do that legally. With the amount of "fun" driving that I do I am surprised his mileage is as low as it is.

That was my reaction, too. On my ~100 mile SRT test drive I reset the average MPG, and pretty much drove it like I stole it for quite a while (er....safely and legally, your honor) to test various "aspects" of the powertrain and the programming, and ended up with about 9.5 mpg. But no way was that reflective of the way I would ordinarily drive. There are lots of ways to have fun driving an SRT on the street that does not necessarily require track mode and your foot to the floor....(and the definition of said "fun" will vary by driver and by the road, of course)

I also did a reasonable highway run and got about 18 mpg, but that was not a long enough run to be meaningful.
