I don't know how to properly word it, i have googled and googled and don't think i am explaining it right. So you know when you have your keys in your pocket and you walk up to you car, the interior cluster lights come on, the center stack lights come on and so on. Today i walked up to my car without keys on me and the the lights all light up still and it displays "press brake and push to start" is this normal? All the cars i have with keyless doesn't do this.. when someone walks up to my truck i don't want the lights coming on.

both keys were in the house.

I can't push the start button as i was outside the car looking in, the doors were still locked so atleast that's good news. I did do some more testing and i think because i have "uconnect" on my phone (and that was with me), that might have triggered it?? what do you guys think?

Ok this sounds crazy but how close are your keys to your truck... Example your key ring in house is within 15ft of your parked truck. Sounds crazy but maybe it's too close. Also when this happened.. How long ago was the last time your key was near the truck..... Did you drive it 5 mins before, park, run in house and then come back out side? Also finally..... If this happens again and I'm assuming your keys are far enough away and you didn't just park it....... Make sure you try to open the door and see if the locks open.... If they do then you should bring it to dealer ASAP

You're not standing too close to the microwave when using it, do you! You might becoming a programmed remote! Sorry, couldn't help myself!

Just went into the garage without my keys to my 18 R/T. with doors unlocked just touching the handle turned on the dome lights and the screen to push to start. The dashboard and other lights were not turned on.

locked the doors and let it settle for 5 minutes. went back out without keys and tried to open the door. Nothing happened. Literally nothing. The car refused to even acknowledge that i tried to open it.

I would be stopping at the dealer tomorrow. Its likely a software issue that can be reprogrammed.

The good news is that knowing this information I still cant steal your truck.

As the IT guys always say, "If all else fails, reboot."

It seems that everyday we are reminded that we are basically driving a lap top computer and they, just like our lap tops, smart phones and other "smart" devises, some times have bad days.
