From the time we got our 2018 R/T, my wife has hated the chrome OEM center caps on the granite wheels. They just look out of place, and will look even more so once I get around to installing the black liftgate emblems I just received.

So, I ordered a set of Challenger/Charger center caps (should fit, right? Same center bore on the wheels) in granite, with chrome "Dodge" stripes (Mopar P/N 6CZ27MALAA) on eBay.

I don't mind pulling the wheels to knock out the center caps with the back end of a screwdriver, but I'd rather just pry them loose with a plastic tool of some sort, without having to break out the jack and impact. After looking the wheels over briefly, I'm not sure this can be done.

Has anyone had any luck prying out center caps from the front/face of the wheel?

I have used small dental picks, with care of course, in the past to remove caps without taking the wheels off. They also make plastic razor blades which you may be able to get under the cap and remove

I have been looking at the same center caps. The only thing about the granite wheels is that there does not seem to be any replacement lug nuts or lug covers that match up well.
I second the picks, just put a soft cloth against the wheel where it may hit while prying.

I was originally planning on some Gorilla black chrome lug nuts, but the wife thinks it'll look better with chrome lug nuts.

As much as it pains me to say it, with the chrome stripes on the caps, she may very well be right...

Alright, finally got the caps on. I tried various ways of removing them from the front, but none worked.

It just so happened the Durango came due for service (5k interval, I always do oil, filter, rotate, and balance), so the wife took the caps in and asked the tech to swap them when he was balancing the wheels.

The folks at the dealership were skeptical, but when I went to pay, the tech said, “These are the caps Dodge should have put on them. Look at the difference!”

Pardon the mess, it’s been sub-freezing here for the last week.

Also have the black emblems on now and the DeeZee running boards. Now all I have to do is convince the wife to let me cut out the suitcase and install some performance mods...

Thanks COBrian.

I went ahead and purchased and installed them as well. I had looked at a couple of methods of removing them without taking off the wheels and unfortunately did make a couple tiny nicks on one wheel doing so. Long story short the only way I was able to was to drill a screw in the middle and pull them off. The factory caps have a locking ring on the inside making it much more difficult to remove. In any case the gray ones do look quite a bit better in my opinion and I agree that with the change in the amount of chrome the lug nuts are not so terrible.

BTW, are those the weathertech visors?
