Hi

I was wondering if anyone has tried to dye the stitching and r/t emblems on the interior of their DD. I’m not a fan of red. I would like to try blue but I think the only color it could be changed to is black. It might not actually turn blue going over the red may turn purple. I don’t think I’m brave enough to try it. Has anyone successfully changed the color of the stitching?

Someone here did their steering wheel with the method of dying the stitching. I'll see if I can post a link to that if I can find it.

Some of the Charger owners on the Charger forum changed the stitching colors on the seats/headrests/ etc. with a fabric dye marker (like a magic marker), but I believe the stitching was white or light colored to begin with.
From the posts, it seams the fabric marker is easy to wipe off vinyl/leather before it dries.

I would think if you tried to go blue over red you would end up with a purple emblem. Red is about the most soluble coloring used. Think red sock in load of white laundry. You may be able to CAREFULLY bleach out the red and then dye it. My buddy did his but it was white to start. looked awesome. I like the red, adds a little color to a white blacktopped durango.

EDIT: If you bought a spool of string you would likely be able to try and experiment before you try your seats. Just a thought before bleach goes anywhere near the interior. Cheap insurance if you ask me
