Hi guys, I am wondering if we need friction modifier added to our differentials when changing the fluid. my factory build sheet says conventional differentials on front and rear. doesn't look like i have limited slip then? 2011 Durango citadel hemi AWD with tow package. Also i was looking at two different part numbers from mopar with the same 75w-85 synthetic fluid. 05136035AB and 68210057AB. looks like its the same fluid?

Owner's manual says no need for friction modifier.

No idea what the difference is between the two fluid numbers.
Thankyou for the quick response. Contacted two dealers and they said my vin asks for 05136035AB. didnt really give a answer as to why there are two part numbers. Other one goes for Ram. I just realized from my maintenance records, i have already used the 05136035AB to change the fluids before. I am due for another change now. Thankyou for your input.

Upon looking, it appears that the 68210057AB part number is discontinued.

I have the same question and the manual states 75W140 for the 5.7l Hemi. Is it 75W85 or the 75W140? My Jeep SRT8 was 75W140 but I know the two vehicles don't share the same AWD system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IMHO 75W140 syn is fine in all the front/rear differentials.

Some Jeeps have ELSD where there might be some viscosity concerns (though I doubt it), but (non-SRT) Durangos have plain ole differentials.. thicker when hot might cost some mileage, but isn't going to damage anything..

Just my $0.02

Thanks for the information. Will stick with the 75W140 in the manual.
