Hi all, got home a little while ago. What an awesome trip! I had some traffic woes on the way down and the rain held up pretty well during the day. It was a pleasure meeting all the members, putting faces to names. It was almost overload for one day. The plant was amazing and the staff's hospitality factor was very high. If this will happen again next year, you can bet I'll be there! :D

Super cool!! looks like a great time? keep the pics comin!! :D

Thanks for posting the early pics John!!

Any news/info on the D's continuing production? And if production continues into the furture, Any new designs? Or keeping the Aspen look?

Thanks,
-Steve

Just got home a short time ago myself. This was my first trip there, and first time meeting any of the great folks from this site. First off, was a total pleasure meeting everyone here. Great bunch of folks hands down. The tour, wow what a great time. The workers at the plant were all extremely nice and answered all the questions I asked. It's also amazing to watch firsthand how these things are built, truly incredible. If you've never made this tour, make sure you get there next time because it really is a great day. Also from some hints that were dropped, it sounds like there's a chance there'll be no more Durango after 09, so who knows what the future holds! I'm going to upload a boatload of pictures. Very briefly, few shots of Thurs night after arriving, then some from this morning. Then at the plant, where all the D's were lined up in front of the plant. Then we went for a nice scenic cruise around the local area to kill time before the dinner meet tonite. (Hope it was good!) Also threw in a few shots of my drive there and then back tonite. (Wayne rain held off the entire time, though its foggy as hell here, and I only hit some traffic when I first got on the LIE, wasn't too bad.) Uploading now, new post shortly with pics. If anyone wants any of them full size shoot me a PM and I'll upload full size or just email them.

Looks like a great time and your pictures look nice.
Only problem is the thumbs on a few aren't the correct photos and I couldn't see the group photo anywhere.
(WebMaster note: thumbs have all been corrected!)

A link to the photo gallery would be nice.

Great pictures, Ray! Where was that modern style, center post bridge? After hearing some of the news and stories about the plant and PDC closing, I googled a bit. This is what I found.

Once again, I had a great time! Everything was perfect. I hadn't been part of a happy group like that since I went to a Mopar show in Ct. in 1993. The only thing missing was the burnout contest :cheesy:

Wayne, the bridge is on Delaware rte 1 going across the C&D canal.

Got in about 3 hrs ago. Great time; great folks.
My desktop MB seems to have bitten the dust, so operating off my laptop for now. Once we figure out what the problem is, I'll try and upload my pics.
Glad everyone has made it home safely (so far).

We took a senic drive through PA and back dow into MD on the way home. We got back about 4:30. I have to echo Ray's post, this was my first trip and first DOC event. WOW! I had a great time. Right away everybody made me and my family feel welcome, with none of the "FNG" attitude. I had a slight mechanical issue on Saturday, and everybody dropped what they were doing to come over and see if I needed any help. Thanks again to everybody for that.

If anybody has been on the fence about coming up to Newark and seeing the plant next year, DO IT!! It was by far one of the coolest things I've seen, and I enjoied the fact that the folks from the plant took the time to sit down and talk with us about the D's and what the future holds for the D. We also visited the Mopar parts warehouse next door, which was really really cool. (I'm a logistics person by trade, so my point of view of cool is slightly skewed.) The drive on Saturday throughout the Del. countryside was a great time as well. (I'd have played with the D a bit more, but the boss kinda squished that for me.) I don't know how many ways I can say that I had a great time, but man I had a great time.

Again thanks to everybody for everything they did this weekend!
