Lucky!!!! jk. I always wanted a lift...
But I guess I should just be thankful for those times when I didn't have to drive around something that required one.
Actually, I always wanted an electronics shop of my own. So in retirement, God has been good to me. :thumbsup:
Anyhow, 18Vice, Nice shop, brother! Lots of room for those toyz. ;)

Maaaan, don't get a lift....you get SPOILED.

I won't even check the air pressure unless I can bring it up to chest level. lol

No, seriously though, I'll never have a place where I can't have a lift. Also, if you even build a shop, spring for the larger semi sized doors. It's nice being able to pull in stuff like my GN or 5th wheel when I need to. The lift bay has a standard width door, but the other bay is sized for a semi. Next place, both doors will be semi size doors.

And, make sure you have a transformer rated for 400 amps. Typical residential power is 200 amps and that won't cut it. I have 200 to the house and 200 to the shop.

The problem with having room....you just shove in more crap until you need more room....wash, rinse, repeat.
RGR that!! I'm in the process this weekend, of 'annual cleanup' out there in the man cave... No more room for "works in progress". And you know how THAT usually goes;
"Can't move this piece"... "This one is waiting on parts delivery"... "This amplifier weighs 80lbs, so I'll just pick-around it" --- That sort of noise.
I have plenty of room for a lift just never got around to adding one...
Given the choice between a lift and a cherry-looking WWII Halftrack, hell yeah, I'll take the halftrack! SaWeeet!!

I'm seriously jealous !! I've always wanted a lift and now that I'm getting too old to crawl around on the garage floor it would be sweet, except for all the additional stuff I'd need - like a garage large enough to raise a vehicle & a lot large enough to build the garage - LOL.

I've been selling off my collection of WW2 vehicles. The Halftrack, Scout Car, Weasel, and Ben Hur trailer have been sold off recently. Getting too old to work on armor. That's a young man's sport! Still have my WW2 Jeep. I won't sell that as its too much fun and easy to work on.

Going out to change the oil shortly...sure wish I hadn't seen this tread seeing I'll be on my backside here shortly!
BTW, has anyone have input on those portable lifts? They only lift about 4' but seem a good option for a garage.
I've looked at many lifts, but hard to figure out what to look for. Don't want anything unsafe!

I had looked at those portable lifts years ago but none of them were rated for the weight I needed to lift and 4' isn't high enough to really work under...not when you're doing transmissions, axles, welding, exhaust fabrication, etc. They're fine for changing the oil and rotating the tires, but you'll either have to kneel or use one of those reclining creepers to do any work under them.
