I'm thinking of adding a bit of lift and bigger tires to my rang. What I hear a lot of people doing is adding 2" shackles to the rear and cranking the torsion bars up front to match, is this a good setup? Would I need any other precautions besides alignment to make sure nothing gets worn out?

And what size tires wouldn't rub after a 2" lift without having to trim bumpers?

It won't effect your alignment. How big are you going with tires?

You can get buy with some 32"s. But the front axle won't be happy if there is off-road use involved. The corporate axle case tends to crack under load. It will do that with 31's, which are the stock size if used aggressively. The case doesn't like torque loading caused by larger tires. You'd have to go with an off-road bumper for clearance with 33"s also in the front.

So the 32s shouldn't rub? And I'm not planning heavy off road use, just extra clearance for looks and plowing through Minnesota snow. I'm guessing nothing should break or wear from that.

Instead of the shackles in the rear I think I'll do an add-a-leaf because it's less ugly and even helps with towing, then still just cranking TBs in the front to match.
