I just did a 500 mile road trip and averaged 15 mpg, this was also at 85mph pretty much the whole way. Not too bad but was expecting a little better since my old 5.7 '14 R/T would get closer to 20mpg on the same trip and the SRT rated it for 19 mpg on highway, but that has to be doing around 60mph with eco (4 cyl) mode engaged the whole time. I also noticed the eco mode would pretty much never kick in above 75mph.

I daily drive my 5.7 Citadel AWD to/from my job, little over 100 miles, 75mi of interstate at 79mph, and the rest in town, my Hemi averages ~17mpg in winter, 18-19mpg in the summer (yeah it does better in hotter weather ?!?) but my last trip to Gulf Shores I was on some larger interstates and averaged speeds of 80-90+ mph and was getting 19-20mpg, which goes against conventional thinking, but none-the-less that's what I was getting. All I can figure is the RPMs I was turning with the Bully-Dog tune I'm running- I would love to figure this out because having only modified fresh-air intake (SRT) and a running K&N air filter with the bully-dog 91 octane tune otherwise stock proposes some interesting questions on what my next mod should be*. I am thinking if I dyno I will see I am suffering from poor low-end torque. Toying with the idea of dropping the front driveshaft and putting it on the drums at a friend's shop. If I had upgraded the exhaust and relieved some back pressure I could anticipate this, but as far as I know my exhaust is still stock... Though it does sound louder than another Citadel I have listened to...

Here's my real question though- has anyone done one of the aftermarket supercharger kits and what was the before/after economy hit you took. Sadly being my daily driver, I am still doing the "trade-off" of a vehicle I like to drive -vs- cost to drive it daily...

I think this is a question for another thread. This is the SRT thread...;)

I have had mine 1 month and use it as my daily driver. I travel A LOT and it's mostly highway driving in Texas and Oklahoma.

I average 17.5 mpg on regular unleaded and 18.5 on Premium on the highway. In ECO Mode...cruise control on and no foot stompin! I average around 425 miles per tank.

City is a different story...I get around 10 mpg.

I hope that answers your question.
Quite few folks in here talking about using 87.

Doesn't the 392 call for premium?

Have a Durango SRT. Have fun with it. Average around 11-12mpg consistantly. If I do a longer highway trip i'll bring that average up to 13-14mpg on premium fuel. I drive in street and sport mode always. I didn't buy it to worry about gas.

Here is a follow up to my earlier post on mileage. As I said, I drive mainly highway miles so this is real world HIGHWAY MPG.

I just travelled from Seattle to Las vegas on day 1; then Las Vegas, NV to elk city Oklahoma: then to St. Louis, MO. A total of 2656 miles and ALL highway miles.

My Fuel octane ranged from 90 to 92 and I was driving at 77mph 90% of the time (except when I pushed it to 139 mph on an open highway in Nevada)! HA!

I averaged 21.7 MPG for the whole trip and at one point, my miles to empty said 548 miles.

Quite impresive. I just drove car from Vienna VA, to Kansas City MO, about 1100 mi and trip computer showed 18.9 mpg on my door step. i drove in sport mode so no MDS. It wasn’t all highway miles, did try to somewhat do a break in on the engine especially for first 100 miles. I did few hard pulls after few hundred miles. Not bad IMO. The city driving...different story

Are you people expecting Economy car MPG figures with a heavy SUV and Particularly a V8? I would think 15 mpg City would be pretty good with the Acceleration requirements in town from stop light to light.

I don’t think anybody here expects that. I personally was impressed I reached epa rated highway mpg ;). 15 mpg in city driving is not gonna happen.

15? LOL!!!!
I think the majority of us who bought the SRT were fully aware MPG were not going to be miserly. These vehicles are just too much fun to drive hard to worry about that. Granted, last month's credit card bill showing how much I spent in gas was a bit of a shock but, I'll just have to cancel my cable...
I'm kidding. I have FIOS.

My wife is getting 15-16 mpg on average - it's her Daily.

BTW her ONLY complaint on the car at all is that she has to fill up almost every week. But we are coming from lots of different vehicles for her SUV wise, most recently being a Mercedes GCL43 - and this is her favorite when it comes to room, size and fun to drive.

I don't really care about MPGs when it comes to daily driving. My commute to the train to go into work is fairly short.

But twice a year we make the 900 mile drive from VA to FL.

On a long steady highway 75-80 mph the whole way drive, what type of MPGs are you all seeing?
