Has anyone tried the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor 31x10.5 tires? We have the plain old RT/S that are kinda ok, but they sure spin a lot in the wet. Wife and I were thinking about some Michelins - a friend put a set on his Ford Sport Trac for about $800 out the door. That seems kinda high to me, so I started looking around.

Now we don't really NEED new tires but idle hands are the devil's playground. So I got looking at the Goodyears and kinda liked the Silent Armor, but I really don't know much about them.

We don't do much off road except at scout camp a couple times a year, but we do have a 90 mile run on interstate to the farm and a quiet ride there's pretty kinda ok. So as it stands quiet tops off road.

Living in the snow belt means we have to take that into consideration as well.

Hey?until we got the D we were driving Chrysler mini vans?Pep Boyz wuz our friend!

You might check out the new Firestone Destination ATs. I'm running the 285/17R70 33" size on my Ram 2500 and I love 'em.

Smooth, quiet, great on snow and wet roads, very stable with being harsh, and a decent aggressive look.

They're rated very highly and are a complete turn around from the Firestone tires of old, since they have been under the wing of Bridgestone.

I was kinda thinking about going a bit bigger on tires?the Wranglers on now are 31x10.5. But there was a post here or in the archives about recalibration problems. I'll check and see if the Destination At's come in my size. If they do they'll be on my list.

Thanks for the tip!
